Awww crap, JMS is writing it again! Hopefully he'll get some help from someone who can actually write dialog and he can get on with the story arc...

I'd better get on through the boxed set, then. Only about 60 hours to go.

Hope that they re-imagine the StarFuries without more than a 'breathing on'.

Is it good news, though, if it's being made for cinema, won't it be aimed squarely at the 6-12 year old demographic?

Well you still got a while to go, shooting is expected to start next year and this kind of film will require a lot of post-production adding special effects. Which is why the release date is expected to be 2016.

Shame several of the cast have passed on.

Didn't know the original commander had a mental health problem and was seeing things and thats why he decided to go and be replaced,

I also hope they keep the realistic physics from the first few series - rather than the more 'starwars' looking style later on.

This was one of the things that gave Babylon 5 a totally different feel to the likes of Startrek TNG, and the original Battlestar Galactica.

Not sure a big budget movie could do it justice though.....what part of the story would they concentrate on? The Earth/Minbari War, the Shadows?

I guess a big budget remake of "In the Beginning" would work - especially if it lead into a TV series. They wouldn't even need the same actors for the TV series since the characters in this movie were much younger than the ones featured in Babylon 5 itself (kinda like what Blood and Chrome did for BSG).

I'm not sure what a reboot will do for this, especially on film. TV perhaps, but how can a film begin to ever scratch the surface of this universe.

It wasn't perfect, but some of those performances are unforgettable. Perhaps though, like the Trek reboot some new takes on characters might be successful.

Yes, I previously heard it was due to illness but not any details.

It does make me wonder what the orginal story line would have been had O'hare not become ill. He would still be Commander but would then leave to became Valen. This would be after B5 had broken from Clarks Earth Alliance. Was the plan always to bring in Sheridan or would Ivanova have replaced him as B5 Commander.

A storyline from inside Clark's Earth Alliance, the Earth Based Resistence would have be good. It could include earth based action and pew pew.

Doubtful but there always hope, I don't think any of them thought they would find many of the original set pieces when they did Lost tales but apparently they found more than they thought they would

As much as I'd love to see this happen I doubt it ever will.
