I've seen you swearing on Facebook.
Its not been easy, especially as no one has done it before so the wiring and swapping TT ecu into NA harness was interesting for sure...add to that the autobox strip and build with uprated shift kit and end clutches. Never seen a auto before now never mind rebuild one lol.
Its been a looooong 6 weeks but we are there now.

ah no good mate, been looking forwards to seeing it run. Tbh I only JUST made it with my two cars. My manual shat the box and my auto is only JUST finished today (although it will probably eat the end clutch again knowing my luck !)
HI mate,
Nice too meet you and chat briefly between runs
Usually it is quiet at the end of the season and you can get plenty of runs. Today they stopped taking entries at 160 cars !! I managed a few runs with upto 1.5 hours wait for one
My two project cars done all right
my wife in the auto GTO with a tiddly 305awhp managed a 12.73 @ 111mph . There was a MONSTER head wind literally blowing straight down the track which wasnt helping but the biggest issue for us was the serious lack of grip We started off at only 7psi on normal road tyres and ran a 12.77 @ 107mph. After a couple of runs with huge wheel spin I opted for the set of Full Michelin Slicks to be fitted. We upped the boost to its more usual 17-18psi and done a AWD burnout first to get them all toasty, rolled up and staged before brake boosting to around 12psi at the line. I was hoping the full toasty slicks would hold fast but the torque just proved too much and light up all four off the line in a mad panic. Sadly this gave us a poorly 2.22 60ft and ran a 12.86 @ 111.54.
I also ran my Manual TT converted car but as the box is torque limited to around 400 ftlbs and I am running around 550ftlbs I didn't run full chat on that either. Im guessing it was around 320awhp today at 1.2bar and did the same as the auto, loads and loads of awd spinning. A baby launch saw a fair big spin before a huge bog on the line, It all woke up again and fired off a 12.47 @ 113.62mph with a 1.89 60ft. Went around later for another try with a different launch approach and succeeded in another huge spin off the line. It spun up in first straight to the limiter and gave a couple of pops before I could snatch second and bury the gas again. It took off like a scolded cat but all the buggering around standing still had killed it for me. A shocking 2.04 60ft saw me drop to 12.59 @ 114.95.
Not a bad day but was hoping for a fraction more. Cant complain though as the diy auto TT conversion was absolutely faultless and for £2600 all in including the cost of the car it rattled out solid 12's all day long.

Plus the cost of your time Cracking results, but you've sweated buckets on that car over the past couple of months.

Yeah its been a big haul doing something new and its been worth it. Sadly there was around a 12.2 or so in it if I could stop the wheel spin. I'm just uploading a slow mo vid and its crackers just how much spin we were getting even on full Michelin slicks
