Yes I agree with you as they were far less Z3 M's especially the Coupe's but you can't get anything half decent for under £20K now,my Z3 M Coupe has also done 60K with FSH but not one owner but a Good history file and I'm sure it will increase in value quicker than the M3..!

Purely down to personal taste, but I think the Z3 in any guise is ugly, no matter what angle I look at them from I can see no redeeming features. For that reason alone I would never entertain having one.

I paid £8.5K for my E36 M3 about 4 years ago. Went to look at it with an open mind having never had a BMW before, but fell in love with it when I saw it and so paid the money. The first car I've owned that I couldn't bring myself to sell when I bought a "replacement". Drove it for the first time in about 6 weeks last night, still love it. Now that prices are heading north again and I know mine is a superb example I can justify keeping it longer. Happy days thumbup

The e36 m3 Gt2 with Munich legends has sold at £23k, I rang to buy it but someone has got a cracking car there, those cars are only going up. Rarest m3 ever, I tried to buy it, should have been quicker frown

Yes they are but refurb end in a an anthracite finish. I've got another set waiting for a refurb in the standard colour. It's not a gt interior as it hasn't got the m tri colour stitching. It is however very similar.

Amazing the GT2 commands so much money seeing it's a essentially a standard M3 with a bolt on spoiler and lurid interior.

Perhaps people are right when they say the CS will be the E46 to own in a few years time.

Looks like mine is going back in the garage for winter then wink

I find this interesting too as when I bought my M3 Evo there was no premium attached to the GT2 at all, and I decided although I'm a big fan of the Imola exterior the interior was a bit too much for me and so I'd go for a estoril one. Kinda wish I'd got the Evo2 now looking at the values moving upwards.

Yeah its essentially the same car but the spoiler etc and extra bits make it that bit more interesting plus its ltd edition. Any mint imola manual e36 coupe with vaders would be worth good money now.

But, when it comes to being collectible, rarity and ltd edition make it much more desirable and the price differential will widen.

Look at the m3 csl vs standard e36 m3
Or an e30 m3 vs sport evolution
Or integrale dealers edition vs normal integrale evo 2
Or rs500 vs standard 3 door cosworth

Power wise they have little more but they go for so much more.

As collectors swoop in they will want rarity.

The Cs will do well as its manual.

I was thinking something similar to this as I read the thread. For me personally, Estoril is *the* colour for the car.

I suspect Jonah's post is spot on re special editions, although I do wonder if as the numbers dwindle further, the fact that it was a cosmetic special edition will lead to the prices of the GT2 and Estoril/Techno/Dakar cars ending up close again.

Yeah Estoril is lovely. A mint Estoril coupe will hold value too.

Just imagine if the GT2 was Estoril blue and no standard m3s could be ordered in Estoril!!

I cant see prices closing though, there are only 38 ish gt2s and (presumably) lots more Estoril m3 coupes.

Red never really comes or goes out of fashion.

I don't like the green of the gt version, if that had been dakar yellow that would be lovely.
