Can't afford to buy a galvanised chassis yet, it's a secondhand TD5 chassis that needs a rear crossmember. Plan is to fit a rear quarter chassis (worst case), move the engine mounts to suit the 300TDI and then fill it with waxoyl give it several coats of paint and then build up the 90 on top. I reckon the total cost of bits I need will come in lower than the cost of a new galvanised chassis and make the car good for the next 5-6 years.
It's brilliant and only adds eight tonnes to the kerb weight.

Agree on the sentiments expressed concerning the RNLI; awesome selflessness routinely displayed by those chaps clap

If you have a few minutes, search on Lynmouth Lifeboat 1899.

The lifeboat was the Louisa. The storm was so bad the skipper couldn't risk a conventional launch.

I'm in a pub in South Wales with a pint, a dodgy signal and a mutinous phone, filling up thinking about what those lads did.

I deed DC respect to those guys, our guys are lucky enough nowadays to have powerful outboards on inflatables unlike those chaps.

I had a book about it as a child. Proper blokes, no mistake.

Remarkable and humbling, new story to me, thanks DC.

We used to go up (and a couple of weeks later, down) Porlock Hill, whilst going on holiday as a lad.

Presumably Hurricane Fozzy was a bit of a damp squib, it didn't even get as far as Bermuda.
