That effing jeffing front suspension. I resorted to breaking out the grinder to separate the hub from the lower wishbone which left the remnants of the swivel still welded in the hub. The hub needed to be completely stripped down to fit it into the press whereupon almost nine tons was required before the stubborn bit of useless metal popped out of its hole.

Now of course I'm at the stage of "well it's all stripped so I may as well replace everything while it's apart". So an order of a new wheel bearing (they're on an unboltable cartridge on the RRS) and a handful of new nuts and bolts means that the car will remain on axle stands at least until Friday.

Ho hum.

Do any TTers reside in the vicinity of Newbury, and would they fancy moonlighting as a parcel courier? Due to a combination of administrative errors on the part of an ebay vendor and my Rainman-esque communication skills a drunken purchase has gone horribly wrong; can you rescue it from almost certain money-wastage?
No TT samaritans in the shire of Berks? frown Bobbins

I always feel sorry for those young girls who are in their Ford Kas, driving along the motorway in a torrential downpour with a small triangle of their light coloured coat caught outside the bottom of their driver's door.
They must be gutted when they discover what's happened.

Travelling south on the M1 at yawn o'clock this morning...

Lots of flashing amber lights up ahead...

Roadworks? Nope...

It's only a convoy of army green low loaders, compete with Mastiffs!!

I came.

Daughter's last gasp shout before she flew out of the door this morning was "Can we go to Nando's tonight?" She should be back within the next 30 minutes. Is it wrong that I'm actually looking forward to some filthy chicken?

Talking of takeaway establishments. The Chip shop closest to my place has been crap for ages (always used to go an extra mile down the road to a good one), it's now closed down and Dominos are taking the building on.

Our usual pizza choice is Pizza Hut, recently tried Papa Johns which was ok.

We have no chain restaurants in Guernsey. We had a Wimpeys for a while and a brief Pizza Express. Not missing much.

We eat food.
