I've just realised my friend will only be 24 for the next week or so. I need to make the most of that.

Not upset exactly. We just have to presume the experiment wasn't a success. Or Big Al didn't get the memo.

Anyway, here we are again.

Up and at 'em, everyone. There's not a moment to spare.

In a brief ceremony at work yesterday I was awarded the DCM. That'll learn me. As the last Cad Man Standing I'd convinced myself I'd made the cut for the office move to Wimbledon.

Drat.

Still, if there's no work, there's no work. The jacket sailed away last week and the topsides isn't far behind. They're not even bidding very much at present.

So, this time next week, in the Lounge Bar of the Newbury Labour Exchange, I shall be heard keenly persuing employment opportunities, "Is there any fear of work, mate?"

Serious. It's the contractor's lot, I'm afraid, pad.

Drat. So close to getting on the "permanent" contractor thing they have here. Unofficially. One guy came for eight weeks ten years ago.

Joining the sisterhood sounds good, though.
