I watched some of Quickybaby's livestream on Twitch last night. Someone gifted him $70 to buy the WZ111 outright!yikes What the hell is that all about?

Anyway my point isn't anything to do with the insanity/generousity of people but the gameplay of the WZ111.

QB played quite a few games in it. He was embarrassed about getting it so easily, but I digress again.

Anyway in short, it has pretty bouncy armour but a very inconsistent and inaccurate gun and I was generally underwhelmed by what I saw. Im so glad I am not doing that insane grind for it as I reckon the WZ112 would do just about the same thing and be a lot less hassle to get.

Go to 47 mins. Reckons for an average WoT player, it would take approx 80 hours of solid play to get the 111. And it's not even a good tank.

Sorry I can't help on the clan wars tanks, but fully agree on the WZ111 mission. The maths on time and battles required to get it are just, well, crazy relative to the reward - especially at a time of the year when there are plenty of better things to do.

Optimistically it's around 700 battles, assuming each nation can average 1500 damage per battle and 1.5 kills per game - more likely closer to 1000 if you have to play lower tier tanks due to nation restrictions. At 7 mins per battle, that's ~82 hours of non stop tanking, at a time when the mission will be promoting brain out play, kill stealing etc etc. Not for me thanks WG xmas

He must read the PH forums....wavey

But yeah, 80+hours of gaming to get it is OTT. Would have been much better to have lower requirements for a tier 6 or something - but you can see the motivation for WG. Make it tough, sell tokens to people to fill in the gaps.

I havent been playing for a week or two so can anyone tell me how this insane mission is affecting gameplay out there?

I intend playing again from this weekend and I am wondering if I should expect kill stealing, people not taking kill shots and a general increase in the levels of noobery as everyone lets go of the last vestiges of sanity in their blind pursuit of this crazy mission.

Whats the deal with kill stealing, I thought it was a team game? should one sit and watch while two tanks take pot shot at each other. Then when the team member dies it's your turn to shoot.

If I'm trading shots with an enemy tank I'm happy for a team member to come and assist.

It hasn't felt much worse than normal to be honest - but I expect it will get worse from the weekend once the schools are out and people are jollied up for Christmas. Kills will be the limiting factor so I would imagine people delaying shots to get the kill will get worse - but it's only a problem if you are going for the mission and no doubt will get progressively worse until people get done with the mission / bored of it.

Top tiers will be the worst affected as everyone crowds them for the damage numbers, I played tier 7 mostly this week and probably won't go higher for a while. I'm not trying for the mission, but it seems actually like it would be easier at around tier 7 as the balance of damage and kills seems easier to keep.

Well that's exactly it. You want teamwork and expect your teammates to back you up, or for your help to be welcomed. But the mission currently expects you to get 150 kills per nation, so people are more concerned about getting the killing shot rather than getting the enemy killed as soon as possible. So:

-Either they delay helping until the enemy has less HP than they can damage them for (so they aren't reloading at the time it happens); or
-they are fighting an enemy and want the killing blow, so when someone else takes it (possibly saving them a ton of HP) they go all mental.

Its a poor target for the missions - xp and damage are fine as they can be earned without detriment to winning or without really competing with your teammates. Kills however there are only 15 per game available an you have 14 competitors on your team for them. Kind of breaks the team ethic that one.

Not sure why I bother with this game, so annoying and unfair when you get one of those days.
Ten games all loses with different tanks, mm seems to be getting worse.

I have no issue with "kill stealing". As you rightly say, it is a team game. It is about damage, not kills and I am more than happy for an enemy gun to be taken out as quickly as possible.

My fear is that with the current mission needing 150 kills per nation as part of the qualifying condition, that maybe people will be reluctant to take shots and instead wait for someone else to take a shot to reduce a targets hit points, and then they go for the kill shot. The results would be enemy tanks living longer than they should and therefore getting more damage out than they should.

But maybe this is nothing more than the paranoid fears of my own fevered mind.nuts

Have you seen how much money that guy gets? eek I was watching his latest 5.5 hour live stream and he must've been sent donations of £200+ during that period. Nice income for playing games for a few hours. grumpy

Yeah he must do alright from it, but fair play to him he does put in a lot of effort to making videos and keeping to his schedule. I'm sure it can't be fun having to play sometimes when you really don't want to just because your schedule demands it. I have seen streams when he has been obviously ill or wanting to be somewhere else, but he just grinds on through so it is more of a job than a hobby it seems.

There have been times when he has been streaming when he has been getting donations and subs right left and centre, one time ( I think it was when he said his fiancée was coming to live with him or something) where he was getting absolutely spammed with money (oh the hardship...). He actually got quite emotional and ended just talking to the camera for the remainder of the stream.

There are those out there who really don't like him and suggest that he is very cynical with how he uses his personal life to build a bond with the viewer. Personally I think that's unfair, but each to their own. I'm glad there are streamers like QB, Ciron etc around, helps the communities. smile

There's an element of tall poppy syndrome with the QB haters. He just takes a professional attitude to it and it has paid off for him. Good luck to him. At least he plays mostly alone, instead of just roflstomping teams in unicum platoons.

Unicum platoons are a big feature of the Xbox forum community, the unicums make "clans", which are really just pubstomping teams as clan wars have been implemented yet, so you get platoons of 5 68% winrate players in tier 10 tanks vs a disorganised, disconnected opposition of solo players it takes an awful lot to topple the platoon.

No different on the PC, same thing happens. It's a pity there isn't a platooned Win Rate / Solo Win Rate separation, would be telling. The matchmaking does match up platoon v platoon, but not well and doesn't take skill into account. Unicum platoon vs inexperienced platoon is not usually a good game.

Platooning with other decent players is the best way to bump your win rate by 5% or more.

There's a reason why platoons are limited to 3 on the PC. I'm surprised it's not the same one Xbox.

We had platoons of seven at one point! That said, you really only need 3 unicums platooned in tier X or pref MM premiums to be a nigh insurmountable force. Many of the forumers near the 70% mark only play platooned and only with a select few "clan" members, if their friends aren't available then they don't play. I'm trying to improve my stats all the time by upping my game, but when you start stat padding through platooning, only playing certain tanks, only playing at certain times etc, it starts to become a job and not a hobby, fk that.

I've had some proper st luck today, 5 losses in a row in the FV207, then my first win came on a tier 9 smash and grab on Ensk, where I scored a single critical and got a few hundred in assist damage. furious

I don't like him, I think he's very fake and his patronising tone whenever he opens his mouth does grate with me "WOW! Thank you SOOOOO much for your tip", but he is a good player and you can learn stuff from his gameplay. There was a moment in his last stream around the 1hr mark when he was playing on South Coast with Jingles and Ik when they couldn't cover him from a Borsig and he went into a full on temper over it before realising he was live and started making excuses. Jingles turned it against him a few games later when QB should've supported him but didn't and Jingles went into a right sarcastic rant about it and there was a big awkward silence where I was expecting it all to kick off, Jingles quit the stream etc.

Circon's stream and vids are much more entertaining for me. You can tell he enjoys playing and always has a good laugh with the other guys whereas QBs play feels very forced.
