The KV1 sport video is my fav, hillarious.

His piss take Russian accent is pretty funny. Being a Latvian, I don't think he's that fond of Russians, especially the ones that were born in Latvia and don't even bother to learn Latvian.

What a night, just platooned up with my regular Pistonheads squad, probably had an 80% winrate over the 3 hours we played. Only one game in the CGC, which still ended up as a 5 kill stormer on Widepark, of all maps, most of the night was spent in the Chi-Nu Kai and then swapping to the Chi-He after Sixth Sense was trained in. I love these Japanese tanks, it's taken a little while to recalibrate my mindset, I'd normally play much more aggressive positions in American mediums, as their frontal armour, strong mantlets and gun depression make them reasonably bouncy, whereas the Japs feel like they could be overmatched by a peashooter. That said, having a tier 4 medium that can penetrate KV-1s, T1s and KV-1S's reliably without premium is a boon.

The last match of the night was an encounter on Malinovka. The cap circle has been moved to A9, spawns are in the N/W and S/E covers. We spawned S/E, saw their TDs and mediums lining up along the bottom field, presumably getting ready for a snipey camping session, and proceeded to rush the flag. We capped about 2 and a half minutes into the game - 259xp for winning, with a premium account. A couple of our tanks held them up at the camp field, and presumably their arty were tunnel-visioning on them, as despite there being 6 of us in the cap circle, not a single shot came our way. Definitely the sttest victory I've ever had, but also one of the funniest, and also one of the most embarrassing for the enemy.

I had a win like that on Prokorovka the first they moved the cap circle to the village. The enemy all went one way, we all went to the cap and won without a shot being fired. So dumb.

M6A2E1 bundle on sale on the 360 next week. I'll give it a miss, as it's a hefty 11,000 gold, which seems a bit steep considering the old price on the PC was 7500 gold. That said, it comes with a garage slot, some premium ammo and 3 pieces of equipment, but that's not enough to make up for the 3500 gold - that's about £12! I am looking forward to seeing them on the field though, I'll be sure to load some HE for those huge, slabby 44mm side panels hehe

It does look like it could be an interesting tank to play hull down, as it's incredibly tall, and apparently it can shoot down on opponents in close quarters fights, allowing it to overmatch the turret roofs and engine decks of it's enemies.

I'm not sure if it gets pref MM, it did on the PC but it's not confirmed on the Xbox yet. I think it probably deserves pref MM (there's an argument that the Löwe and the T34 do too though), but if I do come across them in my CGC, I look forward to dumping shells on it, as they're bloody huge targets. I can only imagine what kind of damage the splash would do when the CGC shell is calculated against 44mm of armour. I splashed a French tank for 1200 the other day, I wonder if a high roll splash could one-shot a mutant, field testing must be commence!

The only premium I'm really interested in now it the Löwe, and with the long term future of the game secured by the Xbox One development, I think I'll have to pick one of those up some time.

Has anyone seen the new physics model footage? I was watching QB's video on it the other day, it seems that someone sent him footage from a Russian test server. Frankly, it looks ridiculous. The AMX drifting about on sand seemed a bit over-exaggerated, then it showed the IS-8 sliding around Himmelsdorf like it was an ice rink. The friction from the tank treads, combined with the weight of the tank just wouldn't let that happen. I'm sure it will be dialled back (massively) before it's implemented, because at the moment it looks like Tokyo Drift.

"Tanks on ice" it looked like. Quite like War Thunder Ground Forces actually.

All metal tracks on granite cobbles or concrete wouldn't have much grip and you can certainly drift and power slide a real tank.

Even a tank with rubber blocks in their track links (to reduce noise & mechanical wear, increase grip & stop them chewing up the roads) can be drifted.

That's me put right! I still think it looked a bit daft on WOT, the IS-8 clip in particular.

That Japanese Type 10 is an amazing looking thing though. It always catches me by surprise quite how agile modern tanks are.

Tracks reduce the overall ground pressure & allow vehicles to traverse rough ground. Even 62 tonne tanks like the Leopard 2 and Abrams have a ground pressure of only 13-15 psi. The average car will be twice that.

Yes, they can really shift. Apparently the Type 10 can do about 44 mph forward or reverse. driving

Give it the old Scandinavian flick. woohoo

BTW it looks like the Russian server has a grindfest to get get a T34 US premium tank. As with the WZ-111 one in December (which they also got), people need to do 150,000 damage & 150 kills with all 7 nations. That's with tanks of tiers 6-10 and they can buy tokens for any nation they want to skip. For each nation completed they'll get 3 days of premium account though.

Not sure if we'll get this too.

Thought might share this replay, ff to 9.15 as nothing happened utill then as was basically camping.
Am faced with a T67 and a GW Panther, one in front and one at rear and this is were it gets comical.
When engaging the T67 I was cringing and waiting for my arse to be blown by the Panther however what the Panther was doing I have no idea.
Best bit is when he is doing the runner, his last move was up there in Charlie Chaplin territory. http://wotreplays.com/site/1668566#serene_coast-et...

lol, that was different. Well played there, tricky when there are 2 enemies like that but you were right to focus the T67 first. I think I could see what the GW was trying to do, but it was certainly a bizarre strategy silly

Thought I would look at replay too - could do with some laughs after some of the games I have. Unfortunately, when I click the download button on that link, all I get is a really long page of gibberish. Am I doing something wrong?

ETA : Ignore that. Turns out this PC wasn't configured for playing replay files. All sorted now.

The mention of the T34 above prompted me to blow the dust off mine and take it for a spin. I had a couple of horrible matches, including an Assault mode, attacking on Sand River, when I was leading E-100s and E-75s into battle. Given that the T34 is really a turreted TD masquerading as a heavy, I thought this seemed a bit unfair. It did come good in the end though, when I was getting shot to st on Port by an M103 and an E-75, until I managed to hide my hull and shoot down on them. As I was on higher ground, my cupola was completely hidden, and after about 10 bounces and much damage received between them they backed off. With some ops bounses I managed a tasty 500,000 silver in one match, not too shabby.

I've had a lot of crappy games in the last few days, mainly on the Challenger - there's something about it that seems attract ropey teams; despite being top for damage game after game after incessant game, it's still a loss fest.

But it's been that way for every damn vehicle.

So I was quite irked in the IS-2 to find yet another Origami team.

Windstorm, Standard battle, North spawn. I went NW with a couple of others, held that flank, getting 3 kills while the rest of the team went town and got raped.

They started capping our base as our arty ran and died, along with the T20, my last team mate as we retreated to the base, followed by the GWP.

7:1.

Got the Chi-ri, then hit the T29 on cap twice to stop him and kill him.
Circled SW to flank the GWP who tracked me, then got finished off by the 122mm.
The SU-152 who I'd been avoiding carefully decided to climb slowly over a hill to get me, exposing his belly. It would have been rude not to, so I shot him, rolling high to get him too. I was still tracked, so just as well.
The Chaffee shot me up the ass, so I endured another as the turret rotated around to him, one shot him, too.
Still tracked, having been hit repeatedly by the other 2 arty, I'm on 3hp now.

Advance through town, the M41 comes to scout for me; gets a shock as he comes round a building...just the M44 left, he was spotted earlier in their base, so advance and get him too.

I like the way there's not quite enough space for the medals:

Quite pleased, only another 16,000XP to be rid of it now.

Wow, that's impressive. You should post it to Wotreplays. I'd be inclined to send it to some of the people who feature replays, like PontyHairedJedi as well.
