I murdered a 2 man AT-15A platoon yesterday, JP2, in cover, binos up, 6 shots, both dead.
Congratulations?

Bounce confused Can't bounce 152mm of HE - certainly I've never seen it happen in 300+ battles.[/quote

If an HE round hits a thick enough piece of armour to the point where the damage calculation gives the shell a damage of 0, it gives the bounce voice clips, and on the Xbox game it displays the bounce indicator.

An SU-152 probably could hit the front of an IS-8 for zero damage, particularly if the shot landed at a near auto-bounce angle, giving the armour panel a high effective thickness.

One simply does not YOLO in an AT-15A, even in the buffed version.

I just got nailed for about 780 damage by a T30, leaving me with a sliver of health about 2 minutes into a game in mine, he didn't even need to aim for a weakspot, this thing needs pref MM so bad.

Also, IS-8, misery, even with the BL-9. Only another 120,000 or so to go until I've got the top turret and gun unlocked. I love this game.

They tried and failed hard.

Only about 10k left on the Challenger to elite it. Thankfully.

Glass cannon like the new German line? Glass pea shooter, more like.

A T25/2 with a smaller gun that fires faster, essentially.

It's a little bit quicker to get to places, but has a slower traverse and less view range. I've had some decent games in it, but it does rely on careful play and a decent team that you can support.

Hi all.

Having played warcraft for many years and stopping about a year ago im looking for a new challange. Is there anyone here that runs a clan that doesn't mind a noob joining. I'm not looking for a bump up just friendly players that have a laugh. I really miss the comardarie of group battles.

Regards
Hairy

PH has it's own clan, but from my experience of it so far, no one actually uses comms to talk to each other. It's just a matter of forming platoons with anyone who happens to be online and playing as a team together without actually communicating.

If you want a clan so that you can actually talk to your team mates, quite a few have recruitment threads on the WoT forum, and you should find a few in there that are happy to take newbies.

Falling out of love with this game, if even half the team would engage their brains I'd not have to put up with this kind of st, got in from a 14 hour day at work wanted a few games to unwind and my first game ended thusly:-

yup 28 tanks alive and not one of the 'freindlies' could light me up a target in the cap circle because they were all to busy hiding in the corners, Alt F4 time after that.

wow, that's pretty bad. I can share your disillusionment though, I really don't get why some people play this game, only to sit in the corner of a map while the whole battle plays out. I mean surely looking at the same bush gets a bit old.

I must admit its results like that that keep me from playing encounter mode (that and the too few maps). To many people either don't want to win, or are unwilling to actually try to do things to win.

I don't think it's worse than people rushing off to die within the first 30 seconds, making their queueing and the countdown timer longer than their "action"...

Yep, that's true. At least when people are alive they are potentially useful - even if it's just keeping the enemy guessing where they are.

Irritatingly though the game rewards the suicide rushing too well. It's apparently the most efficient way to grind xp on several tanks at once - rush and die, exit battle start new with next tank, rinse repeat... It's no fun, and screws the other players, but there will be people doing it as a quick way to get xp.

I've always thought the game rewards bad performance too much though. For example I was in a game over the weekend where one of our Arty managed, in the whole game, to only do 120 or so damage - but to one of our STA-1's, killing them in the process. Nothing else - no spotting, no assistance, no damage taken. Nada. Drove a round a bit, killed a team mate, that's it. We won, and they got 340xp. That was more than half of the enemy team who had actually done things relatively well. Craziness. It's little wonder people get to tier 10 by afking / rushing when you can get 340 xp for actually being worse than not turning up at all.rolleyes

Yeah, no wonder bots are so prolific, I never thought about it like that, but you make a very good point about the guy who was more of a hindrance getting more rewarded than the guy who actually utilised his brain, but was unlucky enough to be on a weaker team...

I guess at least the guy had been around for 10 minutes or so in the battle, and I'm sure he was trying. On another day maybe his shots would have landed and he would have had a great game (it was an S-51 to be fair).

I suppose the game has to reward something for people who are in the battle for a long time without quitting, even if they have a shocker, otherwise what's the incentive to keep trying - but then I thought there were the anti-quit measures now. It just all seems a bit imbalanced sometimes.

There are, its why some people either sit in the back corner or double tap R and go and make a drink. I have to admit in the past before I could be bothered to try and learn how to play certain map & tank combo's I am guilty of suicide scouting just to get out of the match, that way I didn't incur any penalty other than the calls of "noob" and "idiot". I don't do that any more, not deliberatly anyway. Sometimes you get wiped out in the first minute of the game, sometimes you rule the battle field, random battles are just that - random.

4 kills, over 3k damage and some sub 1k game n00b in a E25 calls me out for being a bot, after he died in in the 1st 3 minutes.

Moron

He pinged the map to death in the same spot for over a minute causing mass distraction, checked him out after the game, less than 1000 games, 46% wr and a 300ish win8 and is the leader on a 5 man clan.

Also had a dead WT E100 on our team threaten to TK me next he saw me, just because I out damaged him in my JP2 while he was alive, not my fault he didn't move when the arty got close with their shots and he got one shotted.

started calling me and kid and weekend warrior till I pointed out I was 39 and check my clan tag (CIRC2), rest of the team started to tell him to shut up to.

He shut up then

its an odd community to be fair, even by gaming standards nerd. Mind you it's not that surprising as the game can be incredibly frustrating - just takes a relatively short losing streak to turn even the most laidback into keyboard bashing profanity factories.

There is a saying that 'A society is only three meals away from anarchy' - whilst it's original source is uncertain (theories range from Plato, through Dumas to Arnold Rimmer) it's relatively apt. 'A society is only three bad WOT sessions from anarchy' somehow fits the bill for a more contemporary update.
