Back in the game now, PC finally built. Decided to start the Tortoise grind, really want to play the 183. Luckily a while ago I'd decided to go up the newer Brit TD line, until I unlocked the Conway, which meant that the top tortoise gun was available from the outset. Can't imagine playing the Tortoise with the 225 pen 250 alpah gun, must be god awful. The top gun though, boy oh boy that dpm..

Been a bit lucky with the start perhaps, winning 7 out of 8 games, but averaging 2939 damage per battle with it. It's much more fun than I'd expected, and whilst that armour is holding up as much as I thought (i.e. not much) the cannon is brill. It's going to be far less painful than I thought.

Went with superheavy spall liner (has a +50% to crew protection from injuries), rammer and bino's for it, but thinking the bino's might be a bad choice as you have to move it a lot - perhaps optics or vents would be a better choice?

Also ace tanker on 8th game is promising smile

Also on a separate note, it makes one heck of a difference playing when not tired - day off today and performance much better than after work / family duties on weekends. No wonder all the 'not got a proper job' streamers make it look so easy wink

I broke my losing streak after a barely believable 14 games, my trust Löwe found a good spot on Prokhorovka in a tier 8 game, it looked a bit hairy at one point when an SU-14-1 blew my tracks off and took a big chunk of health, then an AT-15, IS-6 and T-34-3 started shooting at me, but I ended up weathering the storm and collecting Shellproof and Spotter ribbons, first time I've had those since they were added.

I'm glad I bought this big German in, I can see us having a good time.

That isn't hard, the T69 is dreadful. Way too slow to be a medium.

The T54E1 is a pretty capable tank though.
That's why I'm going the T49 route. Which isn't much fun, either.

Unlocked the tortoise a long time back...like you, the idea of playing it without the top gun filled me with dread, so I'm going the Conway route, too, with about 40k left to unlock it. I usually free xp the tracks on new tanks, so the first game in the tortoise will be fully upgraded...

I actually quite liked the T69 once I got used to it. The gun isn't much cop frontally but it's a brilliant flanker.

I don't like the T49 though. That derp cannon is very disappointing to me (even though I took 900 damage off a Waffentrager). 22 second reload and really inaccurate.

Am grinding the British mediums at the moment and have worked up to the Comet. It's much better than I thought it would be.

It's the US version of the troll cannon in the SU-152. Utterly random as to whether or not it hits, or does any damage.

I've gone back to the first gun.

Oh man, I've found my swing again. I bought a Hummel to grind up to the GwPanther, which I've always wanted. I don't consider this a painful grind as I love playing arty and I really enjoyed the Hummel. I know the GwTiger P and GwTiger get mixed reviews, but I think I want one in my garage even just to look at it. Last time I had one of these, I had no premiums, no prem account etc, so I had to sell it to make space in the garage for something else. I remember liking it back then, I love it now. In my last session I've had 4 mastery first class and an Ace Tanker, averaging about 2.5 kill per game. I also picked up my first Gore's medal in the Ace Tanker game, my first since they added the medal on Tuesday. Awesome!

I've also started to get the IS-7 working for me, I've had a few games where I've just been laughing at the enemy, mercilessly facehugging them to the death, or getting my lower glacis behind a rock and bouncing AP and HEAT from a JPE-100. Ololol.

All things being equal which tier 9 then 10 in the same line have you all enjoyed the most.
I've got most trees up to 6 7 or 8 and it's probably time I pushed on for a top tier or two.
My only T9 is the M103 which I just don't get along with.

I went for the Jagdtiger as a target tank, and got a JPE-100 from that. I don't rate it, the Jagdtiger is more fun and stronger tier for tier. I also did the Brit artillery line to get a Conqueror Gun Carriage out of it, which was painful at times, the end result was worth it, but only if you like playing artillery and don't mind putting in about 800 games to get through the line. I've just piked up the IS-7, which seems to be fun when you're not on a fail team, but the IS-8 is pretty poor and not much fun to play.

Hard call - T54e1 and T57 Heavy are both good, and I had a lot of fun in the E50 and then E50M. The Russian T-54 tier 9 has two very good follow on's too, whichever you choose. Quite liked the E75 and E100 too. Guess it depends what it is you enjoy the most - for heavies then the E75/E100 is a good combo, for meds then either I mentioned. For burst damage then running away then the T54E1 & T57 Heavy.

I would say the M103 and T110E5 too, but if you don't like the 103 then guess not smile

At T9 I have an M103, T54, T54E1 and a Jagdtiger.

My best stats are in the Jagdtiger. An Ace tanker with a Radley Walters medal.

Next is the T54.

M103 is OK, but the turret is disappointing after the T34. T54E1 I'm still learning.

Oh boy, I am so due some hate mail tonight. I've been running a 3 man arty platoon with my mate in a Hummel / S51, Z06George in an M12 and myself in the Hummel. The shell output has been ridiculous. When you've got 3 arties in the 3 shell per minute range focus firing on targets it just gets ridiculous. I've really enjoyed today, picking up in total 5 Mastery first class and an Ace Tanker with the Hummel, and a range of medals including multiple High Calibres, a Gore's and a Stark's. It's been laugh out loud fun and I'm sure next time I turn my 360 on I'll have a load of haters raging at my inbox.

hehe It just makes it even more fun tbh. I realised in one match that my reload speed was just slightly shorter than a Black Prince's repair, he had no kits and evidently didn't have a repair crew, I hit him 5 times in a row, taking all of his health. Each time he just got to move a metre or so, then the next shell hit him, blowing off his tracks and wrecking his gun, viewfinder, killing the driver etc.

Thanks for feedback, think I'm going to head to the T-54/obj140, I like the mediums most of all thinking about it, especially now the guns are on a par with the heavies as they should be.

That's a good choice.

Based on my very limited T54E1 experience I'd say the T54 is better than the T54E1. It is a very aggressive medium tank and the turret is ridiculously strong if you can get hull down.

About the only negative about it is that is has almost no gun depression.

The T54 is miles better than the T54E1. The T54 is probably the best tier 9 medium in the game, the T62A is not as dominant tier for tier, but both are very, very strong tanks when played well. The lack of gun depression is crippling in some situations, but this is solved by simply not trying to engage in those fights, just use your ample mobility to find another way to engage. The HEAT rounds on both tanks are strong, but not as easy to use as APCR, so there is that. The T54 has better frontal armour than the tier 10, which is unusual, but neither tank is going to be bouncing any of the really high calibre guns on some of the TDs, or premium rounds from most tanks. The turrets on both tanks pure comedy, if you can find the right undulations and drive back and forth parallel to the ridge with just your gun and top of your turret showing, if anyone can actually hit you they'll be doing very, very well to penetrate you. An incredibly small target with amazing effective armour values.

Ace Tanker on a loss in one of the most popular artillery pieces in the game. Obviously a High Calibre and a Gore's medal were obtained here.

Before I sold the Hummel and purchased the GwPanther to replace it, I'd been grinding the Hummel last night and this evening. Over the last 2 days and 25 or so games, I had 7 First Class Mastery and 2 Ace Tankers in it. I'm not bad with the SPGs.

instances of ghost shell has happened a few times now.

3 near point blank misses this weekend, well, I did not miss, the shell just passed through harmlessly

Tell me about it. I finally got into the FV215b 183 last night, after a fairly intense grind through the Tortoise. 4th or 5th game in I shot a full health WTE100 at virtually point blank range, around 50m I would guess, and the shell seemed to go straight through him. Admittedly I wasn't fully aimed, but at that range even a snapshot when all you have in your reticle is turret really should not miss. I guess it was either a ghost shell or it somehow found a hole in his turret to go through.

It was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, along the lines of evileekconfusedfrowncensored

The 183 so far seems very funny, but also even more troll than the JPE100. It seems to go from being able to hit moving Is7's at 500m for 1890 damage in 1 game to missing point blank the next.

Well it's patch day today, so I'm sure that they will have it sorted now, and that there will be no more bugs at all.

so multi-core support, havoc engine, and the chieftain introduced a with realistic a L11 120mm gun that pens 355mm of armour at 60 degrees at 2000m ?
