I bought with first artillery tank a couple of nights ago as I had a spare crew and garage slot and the tier 2 machine was only a couple of thousand credits (forgetting the training cost to 75%).

In my first game I ran out of shells because I hadn't even looked at the ammo load out. I then decided to do some spotting and distract the enemy by having an arty in their cap circle but no-one took advantage of my suicidal spotting run and instead they stayed in cover to be picked off one by one. Idiots!

Overall I enjoy it as a nice break when I'm having a bad run in normal tanks. Although last night was completely dire and I just kept losing and admittedly making bad decisions which left me in a poor defensive position.

Unfortunately I'm moving house so all my stuff is now packed and it's going to be another few days before I can get my tank fix back. I love/hate this game.

Well i got on for 6-7 games the other night after a few months not playing and in my 2nd game i got called a newb. I was the last tank left + 2 artys in my E75, they had some T10 tanks left and 2 artys, tried capping got blown up and finished top of my team :O

Nothing changes eh tank

I did enjoy the 6-7 games though even if they all didn't play out as i had planned but in this game they never do!

In fairness that does sound like a newb thing to do. You just announced to their whole team exactly where you were sitting. Fight to the death!

There is a positive correlation between duration of staying alive and being called a noob by a backseat driver. In addition, they will be from a different tank class, telling you what to do, having been the first of three people to die on your team. They will also have contributed nothing to the team in the short time they were alive and this next one is a constant: They will always have worse overall statistics to you and be at least 5 tanks below you in the results page by experience.

Theres a very good chance that the people giving the abuse have been the first / biggest screw up in a battle. Best ignored, or at least put straight.

I got told I was a noob retard pisser (?)by a platoon last night, despite being the only tank in our team to get over 2k damage, along with 2 kills. Apparently that wasn't enough for them. Their whole platoon, 2 ISU 152's and a T44 managed 237 damage between them. You really have to wonder what goes on in their brains.

Also get the "you good players only play for your stats" bks a lot recently, again from the usual got in 1 shot and died suspects. It's nice when you actually end up carrying their asses in a game, then message them afterwards - surprisingly few of them want to get into it then.

Oh man how well I know this pain.

A few months ago I had the best ever:

In a tiger 1 on serene coast, top spawn, I turn right to cover the dip area as we already had enough heavies. Manage to see off two mediums and maim another. a light breaks through the defence and goes for the arty, i give chase and get him just before he gets to the arty hideout (that's 3 kills that can be seen on stats already and no other kills by our team). Our left is still clear and largely un-engaged, but the mediums further to the right, where I was prior to chasing the light gets absolutely decimated. I am still full HP, bar a few, and having been forced to return to our base decide to go back to my original spot to meet the enemy force that just killed most of our meds.

BAM! T28 shot from behind! WTF?? how the fck did he manage to sneak into our base to shoot me in the back! OH WAIT, that's a friendly!

BAM another shot from a Panther2, also a friendly.

"Camping Tiger noob!" comes the chat abuse
"WTF, wait!" I protest hoping to be spared and still stand a chance to salvage the match.
Then comes the killing blow from a friendly Tiger 2...

I stick around to explain that they are massive bellends and if they had any game awareness, they would have noticed the 3 and only kills by me and a dead light at the base for which I had to return.

They were having none of it, whilst carrying on typing abuse about me being a useless camper, ironically from the temporary safety of our base...

Anyway, the match quickly comes to a violent end and lo and behold, only one of those mongoloids even did any damage to the enemy, they were in a platoon, all sub 50% win rate, I am at the top of the table by both xp and damage done.

More abuse followed via private message after the game at which point I just blacklisted them...

I still don't know how human beings get only further entrenched in their erroneous beliefs when presented with more and more evidence of being wrong... Or maybe they were just trolling.

I fail to see why WoT even kept the Friendly fire mechanic, when you get banned for excessive Team damage anyway, why not just make it impossible to intentionally damage an alliy, like the mod as standard?

I normally quite like friendly fire in games, adds a little more challenge, but in WOT it does seem to be abused a lot - even with the autoban system. Think I agree it might be better if it were turned off given a proportion of the player base are just too stupid to keep it on.

On Xbox (easy mode apparently) there is no friendly fire which means you can happily shoot your team when they do something stupid, like drive into you knocking your aim off or generally doing something you displease of. You then get a sorry message and everything is okay again in the world.

I want friendly fire on, don't get me wrong. i see nothing wrong with friendly arty taking a risky shot and landing a round into a friendly tank or someone driving in front of a zoomed shot and paying for it. I just think they should not let deliberate friendly fire happen. I.e. your fire is disabled if the tank you are aiming at is outlined green.

Well so far so good with the patch, seems to be pretty stable for me at least. The mission changes are nice, not needing to platoon anymore (although it will always be more fun that way), and the ribbon system is handy. There have been some people getting 'surprise' 3 day bans for unsportsmanlike conduct for no apparent reason, which could be a WG'ism, hopefully doesn't affect anyone here.

Unfortunately the teams aren't any better than before, but hey ho. Had a cracking game on live oaks, a tier 10 game in my T71. Team eventually dies, leaving me alone against T57, T110E4, KV4, IS8 T92 Arty, Panther/M10 and a WTE100. Somehow managed to kill the IS8, KV4 before killing the WTE100 and PZV who were trying to cap. Was just starting to think 'hello' as both the T57 and T110E4 were on clippable health, but as I was running from the decap the flipping arty missed me for my remaining 400 or so hp. Cracking fun though, 1450 base xp on a defeat laugh

I had one of my (dead) team asking everyone to report me for unsportsmanlike conduct the other day, as I set off around the edge of the map in my E25. There was me and 2 artis left on our team; 2 artis, 2 HTs and a TD left on theirs. We lost one arti as I took out both of theirs, before carrying on around the edges to take out the 2 HTs one at a time (they'd gone hunting separately smile ) while the other arti got the TD. How that's "unsportmanlike" from our teams' point of view, I'm not sure. Maybe they just wanted to me stay where exactly where the enemy knew I was and die like a man?!

I jumped in the Löwe again tonight, played 4, lost 4. I'm really suffering in the heavies at the minute. It feels like every time I have a good game, the team collapses and every time I have a bad one, the team collapses. I'm sure tier 8 premium earnings have been nerfed, as in my Super Pershing I never made less than 30,000 in a game, but I've posted 15,000 in the Löwe with a premium account! It really getting on my wick now, victory in random battles in feeling more random than ever.

I try not to care about my stats and just enjoy the game, but while I've seen a steady, consistent improvement in my stats over the last 15 months, it really takes the shine off the game when it's just loss after loss. I am at least enjoying the GwPanther grind, if I wasn't enjoying that I think I'd be taking a break from the game until the Xbox One version arrived.

Unfortunately with WOT, and with the nature of the random battles being, well, random you can get some pretty long streaks of results. We've all had long losing streaks, and I know what you mean about it sapping enjoyment. I find in those situations that either a short break from the game, or just focusing on specific targets (levelling a tank, achieving a level of performance, completing a mission etc) can help.

Win rate is only relevant after 1000's of battles, so a period of time of a week even can be just bad or good. Keep playing through and eventually you will win your appropriate share. A big part of coping with this game is understanding that it's not so much how you win that matters, it's how well you lose. Try to enjoy the losses also (like the T71 game I mentioned earlier), then it's bearable just a bit more thumbup

Very pleased to see the mission have changed (though there's some oddities, e.g. mission 10 and 11 for mediums are blank, but I must have completed them, as 12 is complete...a minor annoyance). Banged out the last few arty ones and another 3 TD missions, got my first crew wench.

Ill have to look at these new missions, i have completed some in the past but only the ones that come normally i.e. Be in the top 3 of your team 10 times etc

I also need a decent teir 4 & 6 tank.

I have my M4 @ T5 which i love and i have the chinese medium @ T7 but nothing in 4 & 6.

Is the Matilda still the king @ T4?

How about T6?

Tilly is very much still the boss at t4

loads of good tanks at t6, Cromwell or its' premium sibling the Cromwell B are both good, and good fun.

Agree with the cromwell, great T6 tank, so fast it's funny. But for pure hilarity it has to be the KV2 with the Derp gun and HE ammo.
