I was thinking about joining the Japanese heavy line at tier 5 but I've just played against one (it is HUUUGE!) and it got absolutely massacred.

Not so sure now. Will have to give it some thought.

I can't see that they add to the game. They look like something a six year old would make from old boxes and a kitchen roll tube.

Heck, even cats can do better: biggrin

I'm going to wait for a bit I think.

I watched the 9.10 preview video and they made a great deal out of the amount of damage the Japanese heavies can put out.

However, in the match with a lot of arty you may as well just give up. Last night the enemy O-I was in a max tier 6 match and I was playing my Rudy. I put three frontal shots into him with no difficulty at all, as did the others around me. The O-I was one of the first tanks to die.

Might be time to brush the rust and mothballs off my Arty and get some of those SPG missions. Those Japanese monstrosities are so huge I don't see how even I could miss them with Arty smash

Are there any Arty post-nerf that actually rely on skill, rather than complete luck? None of the ones I've played seem to have any relevance whatsoever between where you aim the marker and where the shells actually land....

The G W E100 at tier 10 is pretty accurate I find, but it has an aim time measured in the same units that measure the speed of glacier movements and has zero gun arc so if a tank moves left or right of you you'll have to turn the tank and restart the aiming process.

Bert the Avenger is pretty accurate too but low alpha and a short range so you have to go half way across the map to hit anything. On the plus side the gun reloads comparatively fast and the high firing arc puts a smile on your face when you land shots on enemy tanks that think they're arty safe behind cliffs. hehe

Weeks? I've been silver grinding and a million silver in an evening is an easy target, across all of my tier 8 premiums, without ops I probably average about 90,000 silver a game. Add in bonus siver ops and 100,000 a game is probably closer to the average. I tend to mix in my tier 5, 6 and 7 premiums too, which make significantly less silver - probably 35,000-60,000 silver. I think if I focused on only playing my tier 8s I could do 1.5 million on an evening session. If you don't have a premium account and tier 8 premiums though, I feel for anyone saving up for a tier 10. One of my platoon mates saved up for a T110E3 without a premium account, it seemed to take weeks!

I really want an E50M too, I might get my STA-1 finished, run through the Type 61 and then go back to the miserable tier 6 in the Panther line and start that long grind next.

You get like 10x silver rewards on eggbox. It takes quite a while to accumulate umpteen million coins on PC.

The bonus silver ops generally don't net much money, you end up killing yourself to complete tasks for a 100,000 silver op when really that's a solid win in tier 8 premium. I tend to focus on the XP ops, but even then it's just not worth tearing your hair out for some of the ops as when you look at what you really stand to earn money or XP it's the equivalent of stopping on for a few more games.

With regard to earnings, it's pretty much bang on between the plaforms, as is XP earning, there is enough data out there to do a proper analysis (and people have), but with a tier 8 premium tank and a premium account you can easily do 80,000 a game averaged over a session. You're looking at 120,000+ on big wins, 80,000-100,000 on decent wins and 50,000-80,000 on losses. If you have an absolutely st game you might only get 20,000. Watch Quickybaby's videos of the IS-6, 112 and Jagdtiger 88 to for proof of earning potential.

Not really. Some of the tier 10s are reasonably accurate apparently - Object 261, CGC and Batchat 58, but you have to play through a lot of crap to get there. Avoid the top tier German ones above the GW Panther at tier 7. They are just horrible to play - huge, slow, narrow field of fire, long reload etc. There's nothing new about that, it was the same before the so-called nerf of patch 8.3, which is over 2.5 years ago now. Back then, arty only went up to tier 8 anyway.

I'm playing arty again purely for the missions. I honestly can't see why anyone would want to do so for any other reason other than masochism.

The Object 261 is the most accurate arty in the game at .61 accuracy, the CGC is the worst by a mile at 1.2, it's bloody awful!

Was seeing lots of those t5 jap heavies yesterday. Good gun, decent speed and weight, armour.. a little squishy . Well flat..

Spent most of the time in my M4, unlocked the jumbo, will do same for the easy8. Then have to make a decision..! or keep the m4, rocking that even in games I loose averaging 1000 damage

Other members will have their own opinions and I'd be interested to hear them, but of the jumbo and the Easy 8 I'd take the E8 - and I did when I played up that line. The E2 has very strong front armour for a tier 6 medium, especially when angled and the side armour isn't bad either. The E8 is the stronger tank imo, at least in the hands of better players, when fully upgraded the mobility is great, the depression and top gun make a brilliant combo. Of all of the tanks I've played, the E8 is the strongest ridgeline fighter of them all. The E2 has strong armour and can survive in the open a little better, but tier 8s will punch through it with little difficulty, whereas the E8 can duck and weave with cover, and use it's speed for aggressive flanking moves in the mid-late game.

Yeah I think I will go for the easy8 at least first, its more like the playstyle I want for it (and sounds like the m4's), I have plenty of heavies if I want to brawl.

The huge splash radius & high gun arc seem to make up for any paper inaccuracy. On PC it has a win rate 4-5% higher than the other tier 10 arty.

They own the tiers below then, though.

As for the E2/E8 question; I've got 2k games on my E8, still dust it off from time to time for missions. Sold the E2 immediately.
