Am having a few days off this week so have had a few games this morning.

I thought the standard might be better when the kids are back at school but it's no bloody different!

Have been on the end of 15-3 and 15-2 drubbings and just was in a game that ended 15-0 to us!

The cascade collapses are real. Most annoying, even if you win like that.

A decent game in the Scorpion (the gun has a lot of pen which really helps). I got a medal which I've only had once before. A Halonen's medal which is to destroy 3 TDs while being in a TD.

Always a good one to get.

They don't have to be TDs you kill, but they do need to be at least 2 tiers higher than you. The Waffle, JT and Object in your case.

Ah, I must read the descriptions a bit more clearly!

More fun and games in the M48 Patton tonight, rolled it in a tier X doom platoon with my two regular platoon mates, PHer Z06George in his T110E3 and our mate in his FV4202. In particular, we had a game on Artic Region where we completely annihilated the enemy and just made them look like a bunch of idiots. It's quite a good platoon setup, the two mediums spotting and sniping from aggressive positions in the early game, then running like the wolves among the sheep later on, while the T110E3 brings up the rear and dishes out big sledgehammer shots with that huge gun. I'm just in love with the M48, I love the way it can make a complete mockery of E-100 armour without even needing to use the 330mm pen HEAT rounds. I love the snapshots, the shoot on the move accuracy, the gun depression, the DPM and the shell velocity, it's just fantastic. All that from the "worst" tier 10 medium. I can't believe I put off grinding it out for so long. STB-1 next. biggrin

I think I might have to start running my IS-7 again, it seems a shame not to use it. I played it for the first time in ages tonight and picked up a top gun - but still lost, naturally, I must say I quite enjoyed it. I need more tier 10 mediums though. You can never have too many.

I'm on the tier 8 Japanese medium, which is a decent enough tank.

The STB-1 is supposed to be like the Leopard, but with troll frontal turret armour and even worse gun handling. It looks nice though.

Was definitely a decent stint tonight, enjoyable when you get pinned by something then rock up in the TD dishing out almost 900 damage per shot. Such fun!

Realised I didn't have the right tools for the job for TD-15 so shelled out on a SU-122-44, what a beast of a td! 3 kills and a reaper in my first game. Bought it off the back of a QB video of a guy getting 15 kills in one, it still gets the old premium td reduced camo loss on firing and it's RoF is nuts.

It's a good TD, but it's going to be hard to do TD-15 with, even for the Stug. 4K damage is a lot for tier 7. The most I've ever done in 300 SU-122-44 games is just over 4,200 damage. I've seen that game you mentioned and what a bunch of idiots on both teams.

The mission wouldn't be that easy even at tier 8, even with something like the Borsig, Jagdpanther II, T28 Prot or BL-10 equiped ISU-152. The latter would probably be your best bet.

I did it with the tier 9 Waffle, using the same gun as the upgraded Jagdtiger.

I'm so far off unlocking high end TD's, they're my least favourite type and least played, I will have to bite the bullet and forge my way up the borsig line soon enough though.
Fortunately it's only 3k damage for the Stug, I'll worry about the next set when I get there.

Object 268 line is great, just stop at the 704, its better than the 268.

Ok, that's more reasonable; When I did it, it was 4K damage. They changed a few things in patch 9.8, including removing the platoon requirement. 4K was ridiculously high, especially considering all the other ones could be done with tier 5 TDs. I used the T67 for a lot of them.

The Borsig line is pretty good apart from the tier 7 and 10.

The SU-122-44 can be insane in the right match, the DPM is up to near 3200 with the right equipment and crew and the traverse it like a medium tank, circling them is nigh impossible and they've got pretty troll front armour to boot. Very, very strong TDs. Still, I rarely ever play mine, I should get it out more.

I brought my IS-7 out for a game tonight and almost immediately wished I hadn't as I went hull down but found myself getting ripped to bits by an FV215b firing premium at me. I managed 3 penetrating hits before I died and cursed myself for not choosing the M48. That's armour for you, I got a top gun in the IS-7 last night and tonight it felt like a total heap of st, putting me out of the game before we'd even started.

Managed to complete the grind on the Type 95 heavy with a 53% win rate. The gun isnt too bad if you are firing the right ammo can derp lower end stuff and the gold rounds help against armour. i didnt upgrade the tracks or engine though.

Now have the O-I Exp will take a while to grind the engine but thats used right through the jap heavy line afik. even the base gun seems good , very derpy with gold to pen if needed.

As for TD's you can do TD-15 in the SU-152 easily, the ISU_152 and BL10 unless I get overrun with a failteam I can do 3k damage in 3-4 shots 5k is a good game

The way I tend to cause absolute havoc with damage and spotting the M48, I sort of feel bad playing anything else at tier X, even my beloved Maus. Only once I have the STB-1 will I have another tier X I can play without feeling guilty that I didn't give myself my best shot at winning by using the Patton.

I'm absolutely dreadful in the IS-7 an I can't figure out why, I'm suffering some terribly statistics with a 22% winrate after 20 something games - the law of averages say I should be closer to 50% even if I had no impact in my games, but despite having strong stats in every other tank in the line I just suck in the IS-7. I can't figure it out. I've just jumped on for another cheeky game in it and got flattened 15-0 in a total collapse. I think I need to play it more conservatively, it sort of looks like a frontliner but it's not, it's armour isn't what it's cracked up to be considering that tier 10 heavies can pen the upper plate with premium, mediums can pen it with their standard APCR round and TDs can pen the turret front with premium. I've successfully facehugged in this tank before, but that only really works if you've got no chance of being shot in the sides by a second tank, so it's a useless tactic a lot of the time. Such a frustrating tank to play. Tier X heavy tank frustration is part of the reason I like mediums so much - if you don't have the armour to block a shot, at least you've got the mobility to not get hit in the first place.

EDIT: Just jumped in the M48 Patton and knocked out a 5 kill 4500 damage game like it was nowt, would have been a 6 kill but I mercy rolled massively on an AMX 50B and left him with 6 health which was quickly scooped up by a team mate. I'm pretty much through playing heavy tanks at tier 10, other than for occasionally to look at them or for novelty value with my platoon.

yeah that's my back-up plan, still rocking the KV-2 gun on it atm. the thing is I have little to no patience so the TD style gameplay is alien to me, thus the SU-122-44 and it's more active brawling seems fun.

I probabyl go assault TDF in the ISU-152 about 50% of the time (depends on team and map). sitting back and hoping something comes into my recticle is just way too passive.

Probably going to grind the US MT line next, unlocked both Jumbo and easy8, probably go for the E8 then t-20.

Loving the M4 at the moment so want that playstyle, which seems the most fun to me so far.

Stick with that American line, even when it seems hopeless - the American mediums from the T20 up are pretty much terrible until they're fully upgraded and then they transform, apart from the M46 Patton which is never brilliant. The fully upgraded Pershing is a great tank. The M48 is the goal though, the "worst" tier X medium and completely and utterly devastating.

One of my platoon mates is in Newcastle for the Rugby on Saturday, I'm going to meet him for a few pints after the match, quite looking forward to talking tanks in person and drinking beer.
