So this tasty white/blue RS has just shown up on JZM's website at £120k. TBH I'm a bit surprised that the extra 10k miles over the white/red they have for sale translate into such a high discount (£30k). I also thought the white/blue were more desirable...?

love 996 RS's!

was offered the car privately just last week for a significant discount to what it's up for here, if anyone wants anymore information on it please feel free to PM me - happy to help where I can.

From what I was told by the seller it needs plenty of work doing inc. an engine drop (ceramics also close to dead according to JZM). Not sure how all of this was done from a week ago but it does look like a nice car.

I'm sure all work found needed on the JZM inspection is factored into the price...

not sure how it could've all been done since the weekend, particularly as engine out is a 10hour jobby minimum.

The usual way JZM works is that the seller pays the costs of the prep so that JZM delivers a faultless car.
The 120k will be factoring in trying to get the seller back his outlay I would assume.

When I bought my RS from them I had to wait till the brakes and rads were all replaced.

It's not something that bothers me but a pal of mine thinks this detail should be added to the description although when you walk in they'll tell you what prep it needs is my
experience with them.

Just my 2P worth

agreed, found similar in my experience with JZM. However, until yesterday morning the car needed engine drop to fix unidentified oil leak, new clutch/RMS, new front brakes (ceramics worn but have some road miles left), new tyres all round and a starter motor. The price I was told JZM were bidding on it was a HUGE amount less than what it's up for (even if you factor in 10k GBP, as a very rough guestimate for the work needing to be done).

To then see the car on their site within such a short time frame means something doesn't add..market gone mad!

To be honest I think that is an attractive car at an attractive price in the current market (assuming it is offered in good condition). These are only going one way in the long term (even if you factor in short trim seasonality)

The list of remediation may be long but nothing specifically worrying on that list. I would expect JZM to bring the car to the right condition before it leaves their forecourt.

What I suspect has happened is that your initial discussions were with a seller who did not realise where the market was currently and hence had a rethought about how/where to sell. It could have sold to JZM or be offered SOR by the seller.

Personally if I was looking for a blue 6RS and accepted that this was current market price (which recent sales would indicate it is) , I would be happy to buy over the phone from them smile
(Done it before - they'll make sure it's all prepped as needed)

Beautiful cars IMO.

£120-150k for a 996 RS or £200k more for a 997 4.0 RS - even if I could easily afford an extra £200k i wouldn't be able to justify it to myself.

I've been informed that JZM's bid was in fact a huge amount lower than what they've advertised it for, this is in writing from the seller himself.

I have no doubt that they would prep the car for sale, however advertising it without mentioning what is actually wrong with the car and waiting for buyers to come in (considering they've had the car for 2 days, not sure this really has given them time to work on it) leaves me a little cold - either that, or the seller has been told there is infact a lot more wrong with the car than there really was.

either way im sure it will go, I'm long the market myself by way of having a gt3.

How do you justify £120k for a 996 RS when you consider what else you could get for the money? Don't try to rationalise it; you either want it, or don't.

I can't believe the prices of these and of 993 turbo's.....insane

Why spend £350k on an RS 4.0, lovely car indeed, but £350k!!!! That's bonkers beyond belief...still think 120k for an RS is crazy too, they were around 70k few years back,

Loads of car dealers do that, it's nothing new. These type of posts effectively moaning about dealers making a profit are so tedious. Think prices are too high? Don't buy then, simple.

There is a 10,000 mile, RHD 996 GT3 RS for sale today at £53,000. The JZM car looks like poor value for money.

Hi Andrew,
I know you have a massive amount of info on these cars etc. Why is it so cheap - been heavily crashed or something?

Email received in the last few minutes - sold! Not surprising really. I don't have too many details but i'm a bit suspicous and my local contact tells me that there is one to look out for. Perhaps that was it? In any event, I wouldn't have bought it without first properly inspecting it.

I'll post a photo in a mo.

Oil leak on a GT3, with such low mileage, lack of use maybe?
