I'm just about to set up my first fish tank smile. Only something small (one of those all in one jobbies). Going to get it set up tonight/tomorrow and put the fish in Monday I think smile.

Had a 1m cube community tank and an 800l tank with 3 Oscars in the UK.

Now have a nice little 160l community tank, nothing exciting, fush range in NZ is more limited

OK, so everyones so far tops mine frown.

A quick question, hopefully! My water is looking really manky, I washed the gravel and the water was clear, I washed the tank out (just with water as it had a bit of dust from standing around), put the gravel in, filled it up and it looks st. Is it just a case of wait for it to sort its self out? I haven't put any fish in yet, and won't until its all sorted (plan is Monday).

I'm setting up my first marine tank since I was a teenager (20 years ago!) at the moment.

It's just over 500 litres including sump, here's a pic of the fresh water test.

I've now plumbed in the skimmer, reactors etc and ducted all the cabling. Currently running my RO/DI unit and hopefully will have enough water in about 3 days!

It's a lot harder work (and more expensive) than I remember!!

I popped into Pets at Home to get some food and plants for my tank and ended up buying a new tank. Slightly bigger (19 litres, other one was less than 10).

Unsure about the plants though, may take the one on the right out.

Was amazed at how big some of the goldfish (fancys) could grow to!
