Anyone go to Oulton Park yesterday? Weather held out all day surprisingly, was a great day until I was in the queue to get on track and realised I had naff all petrol in the tank. Had to miss a session to get petrol!

I was there, missed 4? sessions due to a fuel pump problem. frown

Weather was fantastic, despite the threat of rain, only saw a few small drops in one of the morning sessions. Thought the discipline in my group was really good. What were you driving?

Four? Yikes! I was annoyed at missing just the one! It was a short one though as I think there were 1 or 2 red flags out so don't think I missed too much.

I was in the black GTR in the 2nd group, think I saw you going round in the morning. I guess with your car being new it's all under warranty to get the pump sorted?

Yeah I was there with the Yellow VX220

We were definitely lucky with the weather!! Had a few spots of rain going round the hairpin and thought the worst, but luckily it held off

I'll post a few pictures when i get a chance

Rich, it was a pleasure being overtaken by you, that VX of yours looks great! wink

edit: as an aside felt really sorry for the Exige owner who put it into the wall at Druids on what I think was the first hot lap of the day...frown

Hi all, was there in my CSL. Great day, I had a ball taking a few passengers around.

A small off on the little straight between Hislops & Knickerbrook - rear end on the grass but gathered it back ok, and a bit of a wobble on the entrance to Brittens but otherwise things went ok.

The weather was a dream!

Was a great shame about the Exige - I saw it was out in a lter session but was trailered away later. I believe the driver is getting estimates for the damage today - first lap, first session, first track day at Oulton in the Exige. Luckily the driver was ok, although looked to have a slight limp.

He can be found here:

Anyone know what happened in the bike session to cause the red flag?

I saw the ambulance going out on the red flag but don't know how badly the rider was injured, hopefully it was just a precaution and he/she was fine.

Cheers Steve - its not particularly quick in a straight line but does pretty well in the twisty bits

One of the highlights of the day was watching the v8 M3 come into the pits, the passenger door get flung open and the passenger hurling his guts up all over the pit lane with the driver pi$$ing himself laughing!!

Mines not too quick on the straights either. smile Only got 140bhp in mine but it was plenty quick enough for my first trackday in it (I've only had it a month).

The M3 story is funny, biglaugh I remember taking my brother in law to Bruntingthorpe in a Boxster and we did 1 bend before he announced that was enough for him and he spent the rest of the day stood watching from the sidelines when I could have arranged for him to go out in all sorts of cars. Cornering isn't for everybody and I think it's worse if you are a passenger without harnesses. smile

Anyone thinking of going to the next novice day in October? I've booked it as it's only £129 for the day. One less session than the one in August but still 6 x 20 minute sessions throughout the day.
