Picked mine upday from argos, bit of faffing to get it for the 400 quid as opposed to the 800 they now want,
Got to say ,only had a ride up the street it looks okay and rides fine, very impressd for the money, got 520 spds and
Some cheap and lite lights with a cycle comp.

Just need to find time to give it a propper test.

If they sell for 450-500 on the bay of E (as last one did) only 1 person is making money out if it & it is not Argos or the bike seller!

Not that I would ever try and sell mine on here but for info I don't have space to store mine so will be having to get rid. It's never been ridden but doesn't come with the packaging as I built it up. Only want back the £400 I paid for it.
Any one interested before it goes on eBay?

Isn't that Welsh guy looking for one? Not sure if his little legs reach the ground though.

£735.99 now in Argos - saving £64 off the 'full price'.

Nearly there with my budget build. 105 shifters on the last day of Ribble's sale (today). 40cm Ritchey bars (pricematched with Merlin) and Fizik black bar tape with clubcard vouchers at Evans. New 105 front mech for £15 from PX on ebay.

So full carbon 105 for +/- £500 (after selling off the OE crankset & BB for £30). The Sora (on the OE 42cm bars) is going on my (currently flat bar) full mudguarded Giant, which is where the Fulcrum Racing 5s (swapped with the R500s) and 105 rear mech, cassette and chain have come from.

Complicated, but I end up with 2 road bikes with proper curly handlebars smile

Next year I'll probably move the 40cm bars & 105 over to the Giant and get some Chinese carbon finishing gear and 11 speed for the Ventura.

If anyone is stripping Sora bits off one of these I'd be interested, particularly in the shifters and chainset/BB (but any of the gear kit would be good) as I'm planning a PX Kaffenback/Genesis CDF steel build on the cheap.

Another good buy I've just noticed is the Ribble Sportive, available with 5800 11spd for £899, although they have cut costs on the chainset (RS500) and brakes (5700), but still not bad for a De Rosa 848 wink

Looks a really great deal for the price

The basic default builds at Ribble really do look like fantastic value for money, especially the limited option 'special editions', but I looked at a Gran Fondo on the bikebuilder. Complete bike "From 889.95" looks OK, but I got carried away with Ultegra group, and Cosmic wheels with assorted carbon fibre bits'n'bobs, and soon had it up over £2,500! So then, out of interest, I went mental, with Dura-Ace, Cosmic Carbon wheels, and Deda CF finishing kit, etc and got it up to £3,229.89 - it may well still be good value, even at that price, but it sounds like a whole lot of money for a Ribble mail-order bike eek

^ The 55 will be too big as well, to fit properly.

Anyone want rid of a 55 one? My friend, who is 5'10, is looking for a first roadie and this would be spot on.

Finally got to ride it today! Actually, I had a quick test ride last night... but today was the commute to work. Broke my computer sensor taking it off the Carrera so don't have any comparison numbers but it felt better up the hilly bits and over the rough bits. Nice and quiet too.

It's really good. From a reserved Yorkshire man that's high praise.

Apart from the brake blocks as mentioned. They really are rubbish.

One thing this thread did even though I pontificated and missed out was kick me into finally getting a new road bike, so I now have a nice Triban 5 picked up for 329 (100 off). Just been out for my first ride on it and coming from mountain bikes all I can say is by 'eck it's bloody quick!

All done for now bar some bar angle adjustment. Perhaps some Chinese carbon & 11-speed next year.

A couple of new bits and some parts swapping with what is now my Sora winter bike.
Lost just over a kilo in the process, mostly from the wheels & tyres.

105 5700, Racing 5s with PX Rage K & PX Ti skewers, 40cm bars, Fizik bar tape and saddle, 100mm stem, Clarks SP240 brake pads & holders, Clarks bottle cage.

Decided to use the bike to cycle into Donington Park today. Work friend borrowed his wife's old racer to use..

Made me smile because it was a Raleigh Ventura!

With old school 6spd 105 inc down tube shifters on it.
