Hello all,
I have just whipped off my gearbox as I have a weep coming from between the box and the bellhousing.
My suspicions were the slave cylinder, but it looks dry and nothing coming out. If it was the slave where would you generally see a trail of fluid come from.
My other suspicion is the plate fixed to the front shaft of the box, where the seal may be breached? This has recently been rebuilt, however.
Any assistance gratefully received.
Yours

May not be the slave cylinder>

Is gear selection easy? (With and without engine running?). If gear selection is fairly easy, then I would doubt that the weep is from clutch hydraulics. The other check is loss of fluid from the reservoir..are you doing a lot of top-ups in the footwell?

Other weeps in this area may be related to the crank oil seal and the gearbox input shaft seal.

Have you depressed the clutch pedal a couple of times with the box off?

Thanks for the replies.
Yes, pumped the Cluch with the box off and nothing looks to be coming from the slave. Looks all dry apart from the red assembly grease.
I have found gearbox fluid at the top of the box so I think the seal has gone on the top cover plate
I'll investigate that further......
