A black Vixen was advertised about two years ago with rare original steel wheels. I wonder if these are standard original wheels.

Thanks Andrew. I think I've found it.

Were these the standard wheels fitted to some of the Vixens too?

Good excuse to go back over some great pics.

Cheers,

Chris

Those are TR wheels....cheaper than fitting wires, and TVR did not have bespoke wheels at the time.
Best,

The yellow Vixen with the steel wheels is mine. I imported it from the USA where it was converted to Mustang PCD, and the green steelies were the rollers for the project (at that time without brakes, partly the reason for the strange offset ;-). If anyone would like to have them, drop me a line. They are for free for true TVR-enthousiasts, and a 1000 GBP for non-TVR-enthousiasts. If you band them they would look really good.

I hope Matt doesn't mind me posting a pic of his car but this shot is one of my favourites and is so very 60s. Looking forward to seeing this car restored to it's former glory.
Would love to know more about this picture, must have been taken fairly early in its life. Thanks for sharing it.

Matt
The Picture was taken by London Photographer John Adams for a Fashion spot in Lads Mag ''Mayfair'' He also Did a Brochure for The S2 Vixen (the one with Just the Headlamps and Grill on the front) the Car was also used as Press Car .

Thank you for posting its info like that which adds so much to these old pictures but that one must be the TVR equivalent of the Beetles on the zebra crossing iconic.

Thank you Liam for providing this information. Does anyone know what issue of Mayfair it was in? Have tried to google it, but only found some different bodywork pictures which probably aren't suitable for this forum...

I hope they kept the bonnet nice and warm for her. Wouldn't want the poor girl catching a cold lying on there!!

Thanks for the comment on my car and yes Matt (FurLined) on Flickr takes some great pictures.

Here's one I took a few years ago just a shame it's not as good as Matts.
