Neil I think you will find the #4 is the Bob Linwood ex Peter Simpson Griff Reg FDU 500C, could have spun after shedding a rear wheel, it did that a few times, anyone know if the car still exists ?

The car spinning in the pic is the one restored with the horrible box arches pictured a few pages ago.
I think hats off to the sympathetic restorer who has kept the history intact..i wouldn't have been so brave.

As for spinning tidgy swb cars.. I can vouch that they tend to go in all sorts of odd directions smile

Went to have a look at BLG658K at Hilton & Moss a few years back. A cold damp December day and 100 yards from H&M, the exhaust fell off my Vixen. hehe They kindly repaired the bracket for me.

A really lovely car it was, really well finished.

It's got big brakes etc but are you meaning just the top hose and a few clips and fasteners or is there a fundamental fault with the conversion Richard

I wonder why, the time it was for sale I thought, hm, not bad price wise and big V8, maybe its a bit to shiny
under the hood? but looks at the time (on pictures) pretty fresh and not bad.
well maybe that coolant hose over the multi-belt looks a bit like it could grind in the hose? but that could be optical.

never seen the car in the flesh though, or who has it now?

Well I think whoever does own the car is hardly like to join in this conversation! I thought this thread was just about enjoying photos of everybody's old TVRs? Now if the owner had posted a photo of this car and asked what we all thought about his V8 conversion - fair enough. But he didn't!

I don't think we always have to say "IMO" when we post because we wouldn't post if we didn't have something to say. I just feel a tad uncomfortable when some are quick to make negative comments on other peoples cars and I'm not just talking about Neil, or comment about this particular car.

Just sayin.

Have a look at the main top front cross rail for starters!! Its is Not my Idea of good engineering to cut a main chassis member out between 2 shock towers and replace it with steel strap?? The engine is too high and too far forward.

Hate exhausts that minimise lock
Radiator not up to job.
Cooling system poor..don't look to be any bleeds, swirl pots etc
Still running std TR6 type master cylinder…Shuttle valve
Coil fastened to block to help it break down with heat
Still running on old pitted wishbones…
No inner wings..exhausts in way

I could go on but….Its a more you look the more you don't like kind of conversion.
