New forks take a bit of time to bed it. Everyone rides differently, so try and lower the pressure a bit. Sag on 100 mm should be about 30%,but that's down to you. Try it and see.

Go by sag not the manual. I depends on your weight.

Put you usual gear on (Camelbak etc) and then position yourself as best you can in an 'attack' position. 25% is always a nice medium for trail I find - gives me enough so that it's as soft as it can be without bottoming out.

I'm running my Fox 120s at around 60-65 which is lower than the recommended but my rear shock at 165 which is higher than the recommended.

This^.

Stick all your gear on - including your camelback filled to about half of what you would use.

I ride with about 25% sag going up to 30% if it's gravity riding.

The point of the sag is to ensure the fork can respond properly when the front wheel drops into a depression - without the appropriate sag dialled you'll get a much more bumpy ride.

interesting read...
I've just bought a bike with Rockshox SID SL's - no manual & never having had these forks on a bike before no real idea how to set up for me!
didn't appreciate how much sag should be dialled in.
thanks !

Well....

Looks like my forks are faulty.

I was initially concerned that the sag was wildly different form what would be expected at the suggested pressures. I set them up for sag and the fork blew the dust seals out. Pumped them up to the suggested PSI ignoring sag and same again.

Google search shows I'm not the only one. Something to do with negative air leaking into lowers...

Oh well!
