Half expected to find an ICE specific forum - not sure where this should go. Computers Gadgets & Stuff, Home Cinema & Hifi, Satnav Systems? confused

I'd like to replace the Toyota Touch and Go system in my car with a DAB, hands-free BT, satnav, Android/iOS compatible device. Doesn't need to be bleeding edge mega expensive but feature rich. I'm thinking last year's 'greatest' should fit the bill as they'll be good but without the early adopter premium.
Looking at something like Pioneer AVH-X3500DAB.

Any recommendations or tips please?

ETA: Not a big (loud) music person - more Five Live Sports Extra for the cricket and BBC R4.

Is there any connectivity at all between your existing HU and your OBC? I ask as when I changed my (badged) Sony HU from my prior S-Max with a unit from Alpine, I lost most of the OBC functions too. I knew I would, but I couldn't stand the crappy OEM unit.
If there's no link like this in your Toyota, then shop around for any decent double DIN HU. Last years' models will have lower prices online now. (My HU was €990, but 6 months later was 1/2 that!)

Good point; no connection to OBC.

How much is that Pioneer HU available for now if it was £400 in 2013? It looks to be a "good" price even at £400 when I looked at what's available with Nav etc. on caraudiodirect earlier.

ETA: I can't change my Fiesta ST's HU as the screen's linked to BT, heater controls and pretty much everything else on the dashboard!

You can get a separate lead to sort this out

Heh. Sorry, didn't make it clear - there's no OBC connection on car.
If I go Android I can connect to OBDII adaptor via BT though.

I think it is pretty much a double DIN unit in a GT86 - although in my MR2 I needed an adaptor frame around it.

The problem with going for a last years model is that iOS CarPlay and Android automotive are on the verge of becoming mainstream, this is going to be the biggest change in car infotainment since iPod connections.

Any examples of Android devices you can recommend?

They're not in the market yet, will be launching in the next few months. I've played with some prototypes and the hardware is the same as the iOS CarPlay headunits in the market now.

So if you aren't desperate to get one now I'd wait and see what they are like.
