I had a similar problem for a while (although on original swirl pot). After trying suggestions of extra rubber on the cap I eventually solved it by purchasing a 'long-reach' radiator cap - this seemed to seal better on the top - can't remember exactly the one but search for long-reach cap - maybe a mini item?

Ooo swirlpots and pressure caps.

First off I will assume pressure cap is on the swirlpot?

It seals in 2 places the lower seal ie system under pressure and again at the top ie comes into play when pressure cap opens.

The lower seal is pretty simple assuming you have the correct cap? You should feel it seat and a little spring pressure when you screw down.

Where they usually leak is once opened and this is where bending tabs and extra rubber washers come in. In this scenario it will only leak once up to temp.

The quality of the brass necks on some aftermarket kit is poor. It's too soft and mine didn't even have stop tabs.

Some have retrofitted proper ss machined necks and this is the only real solution. Try bending tabs etc to get a better clamp down. In the end I moved pressure cap to exp tank and had a 10mm take off put on the swirlpot worked well and didn't leak.

A little voice in my head is saying Mercedes sprinter for the long reach cap if you figure it out can you put something in useful links.

Yes Chris,
It was Duncan Pittaway ( DMP555 on PH ) who used a 20psi Sprinter cap for his trials S Series. ( It actually released pressure at 14psi. )
Search "Rough S Series wanted for MCC Trials". Page 7, about halfway down,
posted on 11 Dec 2011. He bench tested several types of pressure cap, some 15psi types released at just1.5 psi!!!
It's a really interesting thread to read for anyone who hasn't seen it, and a great project. It would make a fascinating article in Sprint Magazine.
I sometimes wish my S had 11" ground clearance! But I wouldn't like to sacrifice the handling smile

But other than that, I would guess that the OP's problem is likely to be the swirlpot's neck, especially if it's a flimsy brass one. No pun intended there.
Hope you soon get it sorted.
