Posted on here a while back that I picked up a budget camera for my company shots ( website etc ). Got a nikon d5300, shooting on auto I'm more than happy with the results.

I have a recent project which Im going to shoot tonight. Its large trees which we have lit with LED flood lights, any basic tips for better results ? Should I just set to night mode and go for it ? I have tripod which I'm told will help.

Bare in mind complete amateur !

Tripod, not too high ISO to keep noise down, exposure bracket to give you some wiggle room, shoot raw, don't JUST use auto white balance, and decide how much depth of field you want, using shutter speed or aperture to give less or more.
