£1,299 for a helmet is a little steep.

£1,299 to be Robocop?

All it needs is a front mounted camera and the ability to record as it'll be perfect. wink

That's not bad at all actually. I wonder what the tax would be on one. smile

I guess 20% VAT and whatever the current import duty is on goods from the US.

No import duties are due on safety helmets. That's why you can pick up a bargain by ordering Arai RX7s from abroad.

Don't like it.

Watched the video, when it came up with incoming call over an already existing screen in screen i got out and walked. That really is too much info if you're riding on a public road.

Street Hawk!

I like the rear view aspect. Everything else is unnecessary. Part of the enjoyment is concentrating on the ride and nothing else.

The video was rubbish... Slow riding with random noise.

Were you watching it inside a taxi?

Probably quite useful if you're a CBR-riding vlogger, and not distracting at all, especially on gentle left-hand curves.

"Research has long since shown that HUD, when properly implemented, can vastly improve the safety and situational awareness of drivers. SKULLY's patented HUD solution allows you to keep your focus on the road ahead while maximizing 360 degree situational awareness. This means you can see more and react quicker, potentially avoiding danger before an accident occurs."

Apparently... Not sure where that research may be found?

Cool idea, admire the tech involved, but I can't see this being anything other than a distraction (maybe it makes more sense when tried on for yourself).

Personally, I think that is the worst idea I have ever seen. Just what you need when trying to concentrate.

Like it, video makes it seem like it wouldn't be that obstrusive. Though part of the joy of motorbikes is the fact you can't answer your phone or be distracted, but can see why this would appeal.

However, video is cheesy (is American after all), how noisy is it from all the fins, and joins, why would anyone want GPS/ rearview on a track, how easy is it to control on the move, etc?

What's the use of that big ass spoiler on the back?

And, won't this be superseded, by the time it comes out, by technology like google Glass?

I can't see many bikers wearing Google glass with the way it looks at the moment smile

It's also been regarded as a bit of a flop.

I would assume it's where the camera and electronics are.

HUD navigation, excellent voice control, integrated camera, can't see why?

General reading and commentator views. Main criticism is that it's just like a phone with a screen mounted over your eyes without a particularly unique use case. Tried digging up some articles:

Oh, ok, I thought you knew something we didn't.

I just found 3 articles that explained why Glass will be a huge success hehe

Anyway, the truth is we don't know yet how well it'll perform. If it releases sub-$500, I'll be first on the list, as I can see it "improving" my life just like a smartphone did.
