Hi all,

Thought I'd let you know of my experience today at the Tasjeel centre in Ras Al Khor - the one at the back of the petrol station, not the one in the actual complex.

I took my E36 M3, which has a stainless exhaust, coilover suspension and big brake kit to get it tested and due to the noisy exhaust I was expecting it to fail. Fortunately, I needn't have worried as it went straight through and passed. The interesting bit is that the feedback section of the Tasjeel pass certificate states "Suspension - modified, Exhaust - modified". I've read a few forums stating that people's cars have been failed in the past due to having aftermarket parts fitted. I know there are a few ways around this, like going to a busy test centre or trying a centre that may 'ignore' aftermarket parts. I'm thinking the RTA are now accepting some modifications!? Wonder what their thoughts are in roll cages...

Unless the car comes with a cage factory fitted (Porsche) then almost 0 chance. Rally car get round the problem but then they are told not to drive on the road......
