Mexico Resorts - Tell me more

Considering combining 3/4 nights in Vegas with 7 days in a Mexican resort next July. Been looking in to Playa Del Carmen but would also like to consider Cabo San Lucas (Cabo) and Puerto Vallarta.

I have been to Cancun before, many years ago, so know a little about the PDC area but know very little about Cabo and Puerto Vallarta. Anyone got any experience?

Check out the Iberostar resorts ...... I stayed in one of them in January for a couple of weeks ....... it was excellent ......
