It's been suggested that we split this forum into more individual marques but we wanted to see what you, the users of it think. Bear in mind that at least most stuff is in one place with it as a general Jap Chat forum whereas if we split it up, it may be more specific but will probably be a lot quieter.

What do you think? Please vote in the poll above.

Thank you

No

I have only been using Jap part of PH for about a month or 2 As I have a new GT86.

I am on Biker banter and South west and personally this board does not have enough posts to have it split.

but as i'm not been using it for a long time then I may be wrong and others may want a change

to add i am not aware how long the jap board as been going but biker banter caters for every make of bike and had 600,000 posts. this board only 85k?

Just to explain my reason for the above post

I don't like "Jap Chat" as a subforum name. So even if you don't split it up, can you at least consider renaming it please?

Don't split it. Subaru should never have been split out.

Just add more marques under the Japanese sub forum heading.
For instance, add a Toyota/Lexus section and a Nissan/Datsun section etc.

Just look at the TVR section. There are 11 sub classes !!
How many Japanese car enthusiasts are there to each TVR enthusiast ?

Look at how little traffic it has. If you split it up further there'll be nothing in some forums.

Interesting that Japchat posters are being given a vote and being listened to, whereas Porsche owners have to suck up a myriad of sub-fora despite overwhelming opposition.

We do listen to feedback and wanted to ask the users of this forum if they wanted it split as it was suggested that we do split.

So despite listening to feedback, and a fairly overwhelming 'no' you've ignored the Porsche feedback and closed the thread?

Why bother?

As I said, times have changed. When the split was done, PH was under different management.
I am under the impression that forum splits cannot be reversed which is why I have closed the Porsche thread as the aim of it, to the best of my knowledge, cannot be achieved.

I'd say no, this section isn't busy enough IMO to justify it. It's Not like we have huge amount of marque specific posters in this bit. And many jap owners have owned numerous jap cars so can usually help if someone posts a thread in here, regardless of marque.

I hope that made sense hehe typing in a hurry.

Except Ted did exactly that.

I'll leave it now as in any case, from past experience, HM aren't interested in providing what the forum wants.

I think the infrastructure and processes have changed since Ted's days. As I said before, things have changed and surely this thread is proof that we do want to provide what the forums want????
