Good God, some right precious aholes on here.
Wait until real life comes and smashes you in the face; then you'll realise that a joke is about the only thing that will get you through it. FFS.

A bit of light hearted humour would have made me smile if I was in a similar situation.
Taking the piss out of the idiots who attacked the OPs friend does no harm.

Bloody white knights.
You will never know unless you're ever a victim of something like this, all well and good saying it would make you smile.
I've been beaten up before, granted it was when I was a teenager and a bit cocky so probably deserved it.
It bloody hurt but I got on with it.
If someone took the piss I wouldn't get upset, especially if it was random people on the internet and they weren't in fact taking the piss out of me.

Don't worry guys, the victim is reading this and has a good sense of humour!
Put it this way, his work colleagues apparently played the theme tune to Rocky as he walked in on his first day back at work a week or so back!
Please pass this thread on.

My sympathies go out to him.

A viscous assault is a sticky situation, no doubt about it.

Sorry guys, I know this is the wrong forum but I have signed up with another username to protect identities etc but I am so incensed by this, I had to post. I am unable to post this in SP& L or the Lounge as a 'new' user!

About 2 months ago, a childhood friend of mine was violently attacked(unprovoked) in Shoreditch (after the first England game when they lost to Italy in the World Cup). He wasn't even out to watch the football but was out with his wife and is a decent, respectable bloke. He sustained a multiple fracture to his face and other cuts and bruises and has spent the last 2 months recovering from this ordeal.

I really want to spread the word to help bring some justice as I don't think he has been quite the same since...

Do you recognise these guys?

Good god, get over yourself.
You Get Over Yourself if it happened to you or one of yours and smart arses "help" when you ask for it by making jokes.
I'm sorry to say this is an experience I've had myself - I ended up with a broken nose and two cracked ribs, not to mention a great deal of bruising.

A bit of humour from my friends really helped. What didn't help was well-meaning people just like you being all serious and depressing about it. For fk's sake cheer the fk up.

Sorry if that offends - it's not my intention

Oh come on, they do say laughter is the best medicine. Unless you have a broken rib.
They also say "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger".............."Apart from Polio"

To the OP I don't know the suspects, and finding then won't help your mate, but it might help justice. Hopefully someone will know them, somewhere on some website, and they'll be taken out of society for a little while.

Studies do suggest laughter to be a positive effect though...

Its surprising how people can turn when they have had a drink.

I mean to me, weighing them up - they don't look much to me. Just a couple of skinny weasels and nothing to worry about.

But, you are not watching and bang! - one of them wallops you and thats it. If you are not expecting it even the most seasoned scrapper will wobble.
