Has anyone cooked with these yet?

I've bought a few packets and will give them a go, but are there preferred styles or methods of cooking? I've heard that they can smell a bit fishy?!

Will be opening them tomorrow

Interested in this also, I purchased some zero noodles from amazon yesterday as well.

Currently on a Low Calorie diet and these seem perfect to bulk food up with, a friend of mine into his muscle building swears by them, he chucks them in a wok and makes a stir fry with chicken out of them.(he washes them thoroughly first - to remove any funny smells)

Some brands may require rinsing or par-boiling as the water they are packaged in has an odor that may be unpleasant to those not accustomed to it.

Thoughts are that they aren't too pad. Raw, there is a definite fishy scent. Very much like prawn crackers.

I gave them a good wash in water and then fried them in a wok at very high temperature for two or three minutes and added to the rest of the stir fry.

They lack the stringy bite that I like from fine noodles but really not bad at all. I'll finish what I've bought but I don't know if they'll make a regular feature

Funny enough this thread resulted in me cooking Nikujaga (Japanese meat and potato stew) as my version has konyaku in it.

BTW shirataki/konyaku is made from yam.
