Hi all, I'm doing a body conversion type kit with a Z3 and just wondered if anyone would have any ideas how to best fill the inner arches now that the original liners dont fit. Bendable/mouldable plastic/rubber type sheeting of some description but where to find such a thing!? smile

get some of those horse buckets - the massive rubbery ones. cheap and easy to work, but they do require some support.

Horse buckets? Must google that one. Aluminium covered in rubber sounds the part. Just finding the right rubber will be the task.

Thanks for those suggestions. Gives me some direction.

Think I'd try to make them from GRP - It's such an easy material to use.

We make them for the Vortex cars from a sheet of 1.5mm ABS plastic. There are other materials you can use too, the ones on my car are more like a polyethylene thats about 1.5mm too, lovely to work with.

How about the plastic wheelcovers used on trucks and trailers? you should be able to match the correct curve then as they come in a wide range of sizes and widths.

with a thin material you may find it will spring to the required shape, so reducing the 'hunting time'

Being in N.Ireland postage is a killer for some items but gonna google for some ABS plastic first and see if I can use it to adapt the original z3 inner arches. Failing that I'll search for a suitable trailer arch.

Many thanks for the suggestions.
