Bit of a late heads up I know, but the Vulcan will be doing a flypast with both Lancasters tomorrow over RAF Coningsby & Marnham.

I can't wait spin

Are you sure???

On August 21st, starting at RAF Waddington, you will see the three aircraft departing and then flying a box pattern to the south-west / west of Lincoln to allow them to form up. They will then fly over the turf-cutting ceremony for the new Bomber Command Memorial and on to Metheringham, RAF Coningsby and then a straight line on to RAF Marham. From there the Vulcan will push on to Clacton for its display slot, and it will be followed by the Lancasters, which will have met up with the BBMF fighters by this time, for their own slot at the air show. The Vulcan will return home to Robin Hood while the Lancasters head to Southend to prepare for a weekend of air shows in the south of England. Timings for the fly pasts will be between approx 1400 and 1500 hours (weather and aircraft permitting).

Yes, that's why I posted it. wink
Lancasters, Vulcan, BBMF litlle ones and various jets between 14.15 and 15.15.
Last year we had a full Vulcan display and various warbirds.

Think I misunderstood you. Obviously Wattisham gets everything for Clacton but I don't think you'll get the vulcan / lancasters formation just vulcan followed by lancasters after.

Seeing photos and videos of this will have to suffice frown

Ah I see , yes, not all at once, just passing by. smile
Rumour has it that there is a very persuasive spotter in our tower, and anything that is vaguely interesting get asked to do a fly by. We've had some great little displays over the years.

You're keen :-)

Hoping to get up there later in time to see them taking off.

Don't expect to park on the base site. It was half full at 8.15 and it's all but full now, I suspect they're struggling on the road looking at the traffic.

Looking at the current wind direction and the sentry that took of in that direction you're probably right of that's your plan.

Planning on parking somewhere on the flight path but reports are that A15 is chocker so the back roads will start to become busy as well.
May just go straight to Metheringham and park on the eastern taxiway ready for flypast at 2pm.

They haven't done a very good job of lining them up for us.
