S3 - how far will it go on diesel?

Answer - about 100 metres. Found this out yesterday evening after putting £60 of diesel in the tank. Felt a right tw@t pushing it back to the garage!!!!

Never (yet!) done the diesel thing but did take the tank out once, put it back then drove off down the road without refilling!
Must have gone a good 2 or 300 yards (that's metres to you kids) before realising, three point turn and made it home on the fuel line and filter

The obvious answer to this is to ban the poxy cr@p that diesel is !

Hmmmm - fitting a 2.2 ford TDCI? Not sure that sits right - feels like a crime having a diesel powered S.

Done it twice in my daily driver - luckily it was a company car on both occassions

I know you can do at least 50 miles on nothing but unleaded in a Diesel VW caddy van!

Interesting, my V8S went for about 100m too.

Must be a design issue...
