Nasty Stain on Leather Seats
Discussion
Can anybody help.
I have 2 horrible stains on the Oyster Leather on my 3 month old 3 series. They are 2 horizontal lines as if they came from the bottom of a box or something but really don't know where they came from. I tried general car leather cleaner and again with 'Squeezy' but the stains are not lifting.
Any ideas?

Engine cleaner mixed 5:1 and a decent nail brush.
Or some all purpose cleaner from the supermarket, something like Daisy, mix it down 3:1 and again scrub with a brush.
Blimey, that sounds aggressive ! Or some all purpose cleaner from the supermarket, something like Daisy, mix it down 3:1 and again scrub with a brush.
This was a Merc that was 112k miles and 7 years old, the seats were hard and shiney.
Hour later with engine cleaner and factory fresh...
When they go hard and shiny it is just dead skin and grease forming a layer on top of the clearcoat, you need something pretty agressive to get it all off.
And when it cracks it is just the paint cracking.
Buy a respray kit for £55 from Furniture Clinic and respray them.
My 16 year old Z3 after £55 and 4 hours work, these were shagged....
All this using Gliptone will give a matte look for a few days, but it is just another leyer of gunk being added, so after a few days it will just be hard and shiny looking again.

Autoglym Interior Shampoo or Comma Interior cleaner and a nail scrubbing brush. Then use a leather conditioner once cleaned.
The Autoglym leather cleaner is very good. Don't bother with a conditioner though imho, just adding a layer of gunk again that will go hard and shiny before you know it.
Unless of course you have an analine leather, then it is worth it, but very, very few have that now.
Update. I took the car to an upholstry trimmer yesterday. He tried everything short of a solvent (which would damage the leather) but nothing worked.
Looks like I need to get the leather dyed back to the original colour. The trimmer reckons half a days work @ c£140 though he reckons some specialists have technology to match the colour quicker and cheaper.
So I need to find one. Has anybody used these guys - http://www.cylex-uk.co.uk/reviews/viewcompanywebsi...

I'd also push www.liquidleather.com
I used their scuff master kit on ivory nappa seats and it's sorted stains, rips and more . Fab stuff.

Take a pic of the stain mate, and I will give an honest opinion of you need.
Here is the stain which is 2 lines running across the seat. As I said my local car trimmer tried the usual solutions which did not lift it at all. He said he could repair by dying the stain but that would be at least a days work and the seat would not be useable for few days after.I would get the furniture clinic touch up kit for that.

If you cut a small piece of the leather from under the seat and send it to them they will match it for you.
£30 and 10 minutes work is all that will take, it is really easy to do.
