MotoGP Silverstone - Brit hopefuls
As the British round of MotoGP beckons PH2 talks to Cal Crutchlow, Bradley Smith and Scott Redding
Whether you're a MotoGP newbie or a seasoned bike fan they're well worth a read too, two-wheeled racers as per tradition much more frank and straight-talking in conversation than their PR-schooled car colleagues. For sure, there is more swearing and less "for sure" than you'll get in a typical F1 chat. See the links below to read the one-to-ones.
And if this has got you fired up to go and see the action first hand there's still a chance to win a pair of tickets - including paddock access and grid walk - right here on PH.

Gresini have to tell HRC if they want the option on the RCV. if not then it looks like Mark VDS will step in which might suit Redding because he will not need to use Showa and Nissin.
Fleegle.
"I think a year at Ducrappy has sucked some life out of him"
Funny how Dovi and Ianonne seem perfectly able to put it on the front row of the grid now and inside the top 10.
Interesting to see how the gap at the end of each race has been halved.
Really think Audi won't make it work? Well it is only part of the VW group.
Being Scottish I've never really went in for all the supporting British rider thing(cos they're all English!)but have to admit when Redding won the moto2 race at Silverstone and you could here the crowd going crazy it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
Be interesting to see how he compares to Cal as well. As said above I don't think Cals forgot how to ride a bike because of one crap year.
No, I don't think that any of the riders you've listed would ride away from Crutchlow. The level of riding in MotoGP is far and away higher than WSBK. Crutchlow has already raced the likes of Sykes and Laverty, and if memory serves me correctly he beat them. Sykes has found his form over the last couple of years and I rate him highly, but I don't think he'd do anything more than Cal, and he may even do worse.
Byrne has tried and failed at both MotoGP and WSBK, which saddens me as I am a huge fan. Camier could come good, but if you look at his track record he has won BSB on a bike that had such a huge budget behind it that it was only ever going to win. In WSBK he never really had a chance to shine.
The Lowes twins and Redding are the future, with Redding being the safer bet. That said, if you think any of the riders listed would be much quicker than Cal then what you are effectively saying is that they would be at least as quick as Pedrosa, Rossi and Lorenzo, as last year on the M1 the gap between Crutchlow and the top guys was pretty small.
This year Crutchlow has behaved like a spoiled child in front of the cameras at times. That said, if you can remove your dislike for the guy's personality from the equation I can't see how you can't conclude that he deserves to be in the top class of bike racing.

Honda and Yamaha had their 2015 bikes out on track last week. When do you think Ducati are putting their bikes out on track. February 2015!!!
My money says Cal will be on a CRT bike in 2016.
Personal sponsors and what money you can bring into a team is often more important than ability , just look at camier no proper ride this year and he's a class rider but didn't have the financial backing that other riders do.
The lowes and redding are the new up comers but i look on with intrest at linfoot in bsb , could be break onto the world stage in a couple of years?
