I know you're only joking around, but I categorically deny any involvement (for professional sakes) in the leak to the press. I understand that one of the dealers accidentally let slip.

Unless of course it was a deliberate tactic by Hanse, if so it's certainly worked!

Anyone got any freebie tickets? I've lived in Southampton for ten years, but never managed to get in to this thing. Very interested in a day boat sort of thing.

Try contacting your local dealers at Swanwick or Hamble Point, they might be able to help you. A few of them are PH members so they might see this!

I won't be going for the first time in 8 years. Although I'm never there during the show I'm usually there delivering boats and setting up. We usually take a few boats from our dealership to put on the manufacturers stand and do some cleaning, but we've only got 1 going from us this year (mainly because we've sold just about all of our stock boats this summer) so I've got a free pass this year. It is quite interesting, even for someone who works with boats every day so hand a nose at some of the big boys toys.

I went a couple of years ago, walking along to the venue a well dressed man walked past asked if I was going to the show then proceeded to give me 2 free tickets including Fairline hospitality. Awesome smile

Should really go again.

Well also to save the cost of getting there and back either by train or in the car in which case I can also save the parking cost!

Oh and save the days annual leave as well.

So the £12 is the smallest bit of the saving!

Love to know more about the cutter?

I intend to pop in there to catch up with a few people.

Just found out I'll be there from Thursday on the Tahe kayak stand to help out a mate. Looking forward to seeing it from an exhibitors' POV smile

I wouldn't be! hehe

I'm there free on work, we don't have a stand this though so will be wondering about on the 16th meeting people.

I am going on Tuesday, now all I need to do is decide whether as I am officially working I need to go in a suit or leisure wear!

Having stumbled upon this thread I'm now wondering if it would be a good day out for my birthday (15th). Is it a fun and interesting day out or is it more of a trade show?

it's not a trade show, from what I remember very few people there are actually there to buy anything.

It's basicly loads of Toys for the Boys and stuff none of us will ever be able to afford. It is also lovely to gorpe at a bunch of great engineering and beautiful craftsmanship.

What ever floats yer boat. biggrin
