My car for the first 6 or 7 years and 60K miles. A lot of family history with it.

Went to see it again, was very strange after all these years!

Well I checked out the ad last night after getting back from France. If anyone wants to know what I did to it whilst in my ownership or what I think it probably still needs feel free to PM me. I am also in touch with the chap I sold it to and know what he did to it, so feel free anyone to get in touch.

I am happy to discuss anything about the car. Makes me a little sad as the only reason for selling was marital split.

Ho hum, we move on.

Cheers Jimbo

Once you get over 70k you are well into relacing stuff that's worn out anyway.

My highest one got to 140k and it was very very reliable due to the heavy use.

Yes, that is not unusual. I bought a 450SE a few years ago that had 3498 on the registration document. The thing to do is first make sure that it is a genuine 450 by checking the engine number writen on the engine just under the dipstick. Once established that it is a 450, you need to get to a TVR main agent and get them to put it in writing. Then, send the letter to DVLA and get them to correct it. I did this successfully, and the verification letter was supplied to me by the, then, TVR Barnet, who are no longer in existence. I hope that helps.

My 400 has 92k and runs like a dream. Never really understood the appeal of low mileage cars: either they had had lots of short runs (bad) or laid up for long periods of time (bad). A few miles on the clock, often used and older parts already replaced (good).

Condition over-rules mileage when looking at buying a 25 year old car.

Yup, low mileage blind sides so many people.

I'm just in the process of buying a Tuscan and so many people seem to think I've 40000 miles is really high mileage?!

Fingers crossed I get mine in a couple of weeks and it's done 60k...but had so much work done! average of 4200 a year...
