Well its 4 years since Rob placed the order for our 1st Aston - a Meteorite V8 Vantage that was registered on 1st January 2011. The Christmas present I bought him in 2010 became pretty much Rob & Molly's trademark: V888AMV.

6 Months on came the infamous story of Rob being overcome with desire for the newly-released Vantage S - so much so that he slipped off to H R Owen to place the order hoping that I wouldn't notice. I tracked him down with a phone call to the dealership but too late - he claimed the deed was already done!

It was at about that time that I joined PH - well, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em, and in July 2011 we took delivery of our wonderful Tungsten V8 Vantage S. Not quite wonderful enough for Rob however, no, for him there was more to be had from the V8S set-up and Bamford Rose were the people to deliver it. There followed a car so good she deserved a name. What do you call a classy British beauty with a kick-a*s attitude? Answer - Purdey. We had 14,000 fantastic miles with Purdey before she met a tragic end on our daughter's wedding day. You know the story (if you don't and you really need to know just go back to my posts of 15 months ago).

Next came our Stratus White V8S and she got the BR treatment too - so we called her Pearl. We've had some great times together & I have to say she was a good deal more photogenic than any of the silver cars IMHO! (whistle cat - pigeons etc. wink )

Well the world keeps turning & my restless husband isn't the sort to stop looking and after 4 fabulous years with Aston Martin its time to move on. Where to? Somewhere faster, sharper and universally-motoring-journalist approved. I won't say exactly what the plan is right here & now but we are very lucky to have got a build slot for our next car &, whilst we have to wait until the end of the year, others have had to wait an awful lot longer!

There it is. Bye bye Aston Martin - thanks for the memories. We had a great time and met some great people - particularly those who joined us for our 3 Welsh Weekenders. We hope there will be life after AM & that at least some of you will still speak to us wavey

Wow! Didn't think you two would dessert Aston. surely PH hadn't become so bad that you had to move on to something else.

Whatever it is (and let us know when you can) have fun in it. Good luck. wavey

Hope that you both return to Aston sometime in the future.

Well that is unexpected news. Thought you'd both be Astoneeers forever. Sounds like a Porsche on order?

Whatever you get, friends you will remain so keeping in touch is mandatory. I should know, I was allowed to join a pack of rampaging Astons in an S2000!

Oh ,Rob and Molly,
after the amazing trip we've just had and all the compliments we had on the cars I thought Robs wandering eye (for cars) had been closed.
All the talk of cars between Mikey and Rob has obviously set them both off, Mikey wants us to go and look at a Performante to see how how it would cope as a GT.
I am so pleased that we came into Aston ownership at the same time as we probably wouldn't have met you otherwise.
Good luck with the ___________ I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as the Aston.
However you won't get rid of us that easy, I'm sure we'll have some fun trying out the new car(s) in Wales when the time is right.
Love Kay

Well that is a surprise,I had the pleasure of meeting you both for the first time at Burghley.
I do hope that has not influenced your decision to sell the Aston .
Best of luck with your new camper van. smile
Second guess is a McLaren

Looks like its a race for the door. I've put mine up for sale too.

I saw an interview with mark knopfler who wouldn't buy a white Marshall amp because he was more attracted to the thought of really wanting one than actually owning one. Sadly I kind of know how he feels.

Hope you enjoy the GT3 (guess), though the Pork forum has more handbags than this one I think, I'm sure Rob's subtlety will work wonders. At least next years welsh weekender will be interesting - we may even let you park near us wink

It's been entertaining listening to you two over the past couple of years, and long may that continue with or without an AM. Hope the noisy beetle lives up to your expectations biggrin

I was so lucky to be in the right place and the right time to be able to secure a November build, December delivery for a Porsche 911, 991 GT3 . My reasons, (there are so very many) meant that I paid the necessary deposit there and then. My Aston Martin Vantage V8S is no longer mine.

I sincerely hope that the friendships that we have made over the years of Aston Martin ownership stay well intact and look forward to meeting up with you all in 2015 .

V888AMV will shortly be on retention, pm me if anyone is interested.
