Crikey, don't log on to the forum for a week or two - that says something whistle and this happens. Shame for us on here but happy for you two - Rob does have ants in his pants when it come to cars.

And a great choice - as I said back in March:

"Given the same budget as you spent on your Aston what would be in your garage now and why?

For me it would either be a 911 GT3 in white or a Ferrari 599 in Grigio Titanio with monolithic wheels. Not driven either but the 911 looks better and better with every iteration and never read anything other than 5* reviews."

Red's a great colour choice too, for me it's white but I'm that kinda guy rolleyes

When I told Mhairi she said that's it , it's the end. I said it certainly wasn't and it would be good to get rid of that boring fart Rob and get someone lively at the dinner table for a change, shame about Molly though.

In all seriousness thank you both for all you have put into the forum and the great times we have had, bloody hell this sounds like an obituary when we're only a keyboard away. So I'll just say Tos**rs, (copyright Tony Hall).biggrin

Oh and Rob, TAKE IT STEADY in that thing rolleyes

We haven't done anything about this yet but the number is now on retention and it certainly doesn't belong on a Porsche. I don't know who had it before us but I hope it will find a good home with another lovely V8 Aston Martin in the future.

Seriously good luck with the Porker, that will be a missile on the track for sure. I am interested how it will fair crossing continents and will read your future reports of European driving trips no doubt.

At least it will be subtle Rob, just like you nono
I take it you are offering your services there Cockers? Pah! Who needs lessons? I will admit we are looking forward to going to Silverstone for the Porsche boys to teach us how to handle one of these beasties tho' I expect Rob could teach them a thing or two wink

As for use as a tourer - well we have already been reading the experiences of others and its very encouraging. Its less wild than its predecessors (until you want it to be). For anyone interested here's just one well-respected journo's opinion of it:

I have only met you once Rob (at Prodrive), and then you seemed really enthusiastic about modified Astons.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your GT3.

Molly mentioned that you might be teaching the Porsche driving instructors a few things. So, knowing that you like Shelsley Walsh, you could now try to beat a yellow roadgoing GT3 that often competes there.
A warning though - that driver (also Rob) is frequently a class winner.

All the best, and if I see you waiting at a side turning, I must remember to be polite.

Any reference to Rob racing is not to be taken seriously eek It's bad enough being his passenger as it is! I prefer it when I drive biggrin

BTW - are we likely to bump into any of our friends at Goodwood on 14th September? It will be our 1st time at the Revival smile

After Simon leaving the fold and now Molly and Rob,who I was lucky to meet at last July WW,the Aston PH scene might get a little tame.
Yes Aston Passion will be at the revival all 3 days with a strengh of 10 cars, may be the occasion to meet again.
Once again,Molly,Rob it was real pleasure meeting you.

I will be at Revival all 3 days in March Enclosure. Dressing up in period garb is compulsory so you'd better take Rob out for a 1950s makeover !
