2.0 Ecoboost 203bhp vs 240bhp - differences other than map?

Hi all,

I've just put down a deposit on a Mondeo 2.0 Ecoboost Powershift Titanium X Sport (phew..).

It's the pre-facelift with ~200bhp and naturally I'll want to remap it up to ~240bhp

Now, the facelift has 240bhp. I've read in a couple of places that the only thing Ford themselves did was to map the engine differently.


Does anyone know for sure that this is the case? I don't want to do it if the life of the engine or, in particular, the gearbox will be noticeably adversely-affected.

Engine codes should tell you,TNBA for 203,TPBA for 240,if the engine codes are different there is a good chance some of the internals will be too.

Bluefin remaps seem to take both versions to around 260bhp suggesting to me the capabilites of the engine to be similar, as well as the official mpg and emissions figures being exactly the same for both versions.
