This is a car in real danger of never being driven. Shame, but it'd be nice to own a 2014 GT.

According to the register that is from Qatar number 1185 so a late production car, looks nice.

The plate on the car is 1066 though rather than 1185? No chance of anyone other than a collector buying this one at that mileage surely.

Are you 100% sure of the 1066 ?

If yes I will let the registry know 'cos he has it as 1185, has to be the same car Moonbeam silver and red leather all bespoke...BTW he doesn't have 1066 on his register

I just zoomed onto one of the interior pics on the lovett's website where the plate was stated.. Unless my eyes are seriously out I think 1066 looks like what it is!

You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to answer this one

& the 4.0RS

If ever there is a market correction, which one will perform best?

Wow - love that interior but GT silver looks much better than that IMHO

Some good points in there...someone said I think in the 4.0RS thread that people were selling RS's to buy CGT's which makes a lot of sense based on what you said. I think Sharwerks or the like charge $60 or $70k to turn an RS into something that would trouble a 4.0RS.

Not sure a CGT is the ultimate analogue car of all time thought, that is a hell of a claim! F40 and F1 both spring to mind!

I agree that the CGT is against some tough competition as the ultimate analogue supercar. To the F40 and F1, I'd add the Zonda as well, and also the F50.

I think what the CGT has going for it is the purity of its design and engineering - race bred engine, inboard, rose jointed suspension, ultra low centre of gravity courtesy of the much (and unfairly) maligned clutch. It also has some decent aero (completely flat under tray; even the rear suspension wishbones are aerodynamically shaped!). When reading the workshop technical manual on the car, you are struck but just how exceptionally well engineered the car is.

It all adds up to a no compromise driving experience that it, with some effort from the driver, is little short of sensational.

I can't say its better than the others (I've only driven an F1, briefly a couple of times) - they each have their unique qualities (with the F1, it is surely THAT engine) - but the CGT is surely in good company with them all. One day the market will recognise that in terms of values - but for now it means the CGT is probably the ultimate value analogue supercar!

That you can't argue with....they seem to have been in the £250k to £350k bracket in a time period where some other cars have gone up by 50 or 100%!

It suffers in that company, in my view, from being a very ugly car.

Think they're all great looking cars personally.....all different but the F50 for example looks better now than it did a few years ago.

I've tried to like the way that it looks, coz I am a real Porsche fan, but it is hideous from the side. You cant deny that, surely? Fine from the front and back but it looks so wrong from the side - like two or three parts of different cars stuck together.

Proves how subjective looks are, I guess. My eye runs from front to back and I am thinking "gorgeous" until the roof line drops off and it becomes a never-ending expanse of metal until you get to the next roofline element, the wing. The wheel arch line is, to my eyes, also very hard to like.

Just in case you are adding it to the registry, zooming in a bit more reveals it to be 1065.

There is a discontinuity where the roofline drops vertically to meet the engine cover that has a certain awkwardness about it. Other than that I think it looks great.
