There was another covering of snow in Basingstoke this morning at 0100, but it was all gone by 0800 cry

Well, the current spell is about to end and a change is on the way.

Perversely it's not the Atlantic that's going to take over but the pesky high pressure that's blighted our winter is going to park itself around the UK.

Expect a swing to cold nights and hard frosts and sunny days!
Damn, I thought you were going to say "Beast from the East" then frown

I noticed the playground in front of our house (rubber matting) was white this morning - but nothing on the grass.

It's not totally off the cards, but it's very much a minority view from the charts.

We have severe gales at the moment, and an Air Sea Rescue chopper hovering on the far side of the loch. A very bad day to be in trouble.

Dodgy pic... it's 3+ miles away.

It's bright and sunny and snowing slightly in Leicester. Tiny little flakes and very few of them, but definitely snow.

Big fluffy flakes but not many of them in West Berks. Radar shows it's a rogue shower.

Got a bit in East Sussex on Friday/Saturday. Went hunting for a car park but couldn't find one with enough snow so had to make the most of the driveway, luckily I didn't get stuck at the bottom like I did in my Corsa a few years ago biggrin

I don't want to throw further doubt on your predictive powers, but I won't be putting money on that outcome hehe

The area to the east of a line from The Wash to East Sussex is always the mostly likely place to get some snow with the situation over the next week. You could get a widespread dusting overnight or a heavy localised shower just about any time.

We actually had another surprise heavy dusting on the South coast Friday night/Saturday morning.

The pressure charts for the UK look utterly depressing for the coming week.

Cold, cloudy, anti-cyclonic gloom.
