Nikon D5200 zoom lenses
Discussion
Hello everyone.
I'm looking to getting a zoom lenses for my D5200, mainly for motor sport and wildlife. I've seen a sigma 70 - 300 for £99

Has anyone got any experience of it?
Cheers

I was in the same position recently and tried both the Tamron 18-270mm and the Sigma 18-250mm travel lenses.
Both were very good, producing sharp and high quality images for lenses of this price.
In the end, I stuck with the Sigma for a number of reasons:
- Better in hand, felt better quality and more robust, with less zoom creep
- Free filter direct from Sigma
- 3yr warranty!
- Got it for £200 from Amazon! (an error on their part)
Hope it helps.

Save up your money and buy a good 2nd copy of the Nikon 70-300 VR.
That sigma has no vibration reduction and will be slow to focus - not what you want for shooting motor sport.
Also don't be tempted by the non-VR Nikon 70-300 around the same price as that sigma as it has the same faults.
