All,

Plans are well underway for this year’s event running through scenic Perthshire on the 4th of October.

We can confirm that the following stages will be utilised for the event.

DJR Services Hermitage (Craigvinean) – 6 Miles
Dalmarnock (Craigvinean) – 3.6 Miles - Sponsor TBC
Jardine Lloyd Thompson Ballachan Wood (Fonab) – 4 Miles
Allean (Errochty) – 13.9 Miles – Sponsor TBC
Weston Transport Drummond Hill – 6.7 Miles
Craigvinean – 11 Miles - Sponsor TBC

Those of you familiar with the event will know some of the old favourites, returning for the first time in a few years, very well. Those of you who have never been before, we urge you to look at the website and pay Perthshire a visit in October!

Last year we were very fortunate to have Chris Hoy and Amy Williams in attendance and competing on the event.

It is hard to outdo last year, however, this year we have Dario Franchitti attending and he will hopefully co-drive in the opening car running before the competing field.

Sponsorship is still available for 3 of the 6 stages and is very reasonably priced. I hope admin don't mind the plug, if they do, please let me know! Any potential sponsor will be named in all documentation, the stage will incorporate their company name or similar and all advertising on stage will be setup by the organisers. All sponsors will also have the opportunity to bring along a maximum of 10 guests on the day to a special spectator area in Craigvinean where cars will be visible for the 1st and last stages of the day. Food, drink etc. will be provided.

We hope to see plenty of spectators on the day and to this end we will be holding a forum with Dario on the Friday evening in Aberfeldy, along with other leading Scottish and British Historic rally drivers. Raffle tickets for a selection of superb prizes will also be on sale as well as special McRae Merchandise.

The goal is to have a festival type atmosphere in the local area and if it is anything like last year, this should be more than possible.

If anyone is interested in sponsorship opportunities or wishes more information on the event, please let me know.

Thanks!

Coltness car club can today confirm that Four Time Indy Car champion; Dario Franchitti MBE will be attending this year’s event. Dario was a close personal friend of Colin and we are delighted to have him along for the weekend. Unfortunately, Franchitti will be unable to compete but has kindly agreed to attend the rally forum on the Friday evening at the community campus in Aberfeldy. We hope that all competitors, teams and spectators alike can make it to the forum where jimmy McRae, Euan Thorburn, John MacCrone and Stuart Loudon will also be in attendance.

Anyone heading along?
