I am managing an Exchange 2013 server.

If I create a new contact in AD (I have a container called "External Contacts"), and I want to add this new contact to a group in Exchange 2013 - it's not showing up under the add dialogue.

I can see the existing contacts - but not the new one I created.

I even renamed one of the existing contacts - and the rename was reflected in Exchange.

So now I'm puzzled - as I'm sure this just worked previously.

The new contact has correctly synced between my two AD servers - but I tried running 'repadmin' anyway - no difference.

Any idea why I can't see this newly created contact?

TIA.

Exchange objects MUST be created through ECP. If you create a contact in Exchange now, you should have the option to effectively 'enable' the one you created in ADUC, but in future ECP does both, shortening the process.

Thanks - I feel a bit stupid now!

Creating it in ECP just worked. Clearly I had forgotten how I did the previous ones lol.
