Is there any significant change to the I6 F30's for LCI or just 3 bangers taking over the 328i?
Engine improvements (more power, better fuel consumption) as per 5 series now.
The current i6 engines in the 5 series have no more power than the current 3 according to their website.

The dealer told me today that delivery dates for F30 335Ds are rapidly slipping to the right i.e. Sept to Dec. mad

They are unsure if this has do with the 335D engine itself, spec or problems getting the 19" wheels.

Anyone else encountered this??
Contact me if you are interested in a 335d w/ M Sport + Pack for immediate delivery.

Its the 4 pots that have gone from 184hp/380nm to 190hp/400nm with an urban 57.6mpg in auto! Previously 49.6mpg. They have achieved this by reducing the engine internal friction. I expect it will find its way onto the 6 pots in due course.

Here is the press release for upgraded 2014 https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/global/pressDetail....

Yes, like I said the i6 aren't changing which was the question asked, I checked this before taking delivery of my 335d last month.

Guess it comes down to how badly you want the upgraded brakes; if you're not that bothered you could always try speccing any other bits of the M-Sport Plus Pack you want separately and see what that does to the delivery time? Personally i've always found standard BMW brakes fine for normal road use and, good as the 335d is, it's hardly a track car; therefore, are the M-Sport brakes worth the wait?!
Issue is that the brakes are part of the "no brainier" m sport plus pack, where I would want all the other options included in the package, which works out far more expensive when selected separately rather than through the package. I have suggested I would drop the brakes providing they reduce the price by £570 (the price of the brakes as a standalone option) but all other options remain unchanged, but still waiting to hear back from the dealer. Probably a difficult ask given c.25% discount achieved.

But ultimately, given the car was ordered in June, I'm not going to wait until march 2015 for delivery. It's a diesel 3 series were talking here FFS.

I agree, if you want all the other bits of the M-Sport Plus package it's good value as in effect you get the brakes for free. However, in my case I wasn't bothered about the 19" wheels either so the choice became to either wait until February for a car with the M-Sport Plus Pack or order a car without the 19" wheels and upgraded brakes, save around £600 and have the car in 5 to 6 weeks; the latter was the no-brainer option for me! Given your experience it remains to be seen whether mine will arrive in the timescale suggested but the order went in last week and the dealer is saying delivery at the end of September or possibly first week in October (that's for an F31 335d).....

There is no way I'd wait for that length of time, there are a few stock cars in the network I got one within a week but I had to take the spec as it was but it did include the M sport+ pack only thing I missed out on was the adaptive lights.

The one feature that would have been nice is the new nav integration of the ZF box which comes with the MY15 cars.

What is the Nav integration with ZF gearbox?

A richer experience thanks to intelligent networking: 8-speed Steptronic transmission with proactive drive system.

From the summer of 2014, the new 8-speed Steptronic transmission with a proactive drive system will also be available for the models of the BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series, BMW 3 Series, BMW 4 Series and BMW 5 Series. On vehicles equipped with a navigation system, the proactive drive system ensures that the moment to shift gears is precisely adapted to the prevailing driving situation even if the navigation system is not active. The Proactive Driving Assistant works in tandem with the navigation system and “sees” a bend or a roundabout ahead and takes into account turn-offs and motorway exits. If the vehicle is approaching a roundabout or a bend, the transmission automatically changes down to the most appropriate gear, making optimum use of the engine braking effect. Subsequently, the system again shifts to the optimal gear for accelerating out of the bend. Furthermore, unnecessary gearshifts and hunting between bends are avoided through intelligent interaction with the navigation system.

That is a very impressive extra.

I wonder if they will do the same with adaptive lights so that it knows the flow of the road

I noticed that on the configurator it rates the 4 series 335d at 317hp but on the tech page 313hp all the others are 313hp on either, so I wonder if that will be the LCI (but is incorrect ATM) rumour is they will go for a 340i/d badge as well.

Fast diesels are becoming popular, Audi have produced an A6 concept fast diesel with 322bhp and 479lbft. It would be good if BMW could put in the x40d or x50d N57S found on the x5/6 with 386hp and 740nm cloud9

I'm looking forward to the time when the 2ltr produces 286bhp standard from BMW and 120mpg.

Agreed, I'd like to see an xdrive M350d with M seats/suspension/flares etc...as well.

I'd like to see a rwd 335d F30 - and the reasons BMW dealers give it cannot handle the torque is rubbish hence the 535d and 740d/640d all being rwd.

Nah if you want a RWD nutter get an M3 I think the xdrive + powerful diesel engine combo creates a highly capable machine especially in touring guise.

My dealer just called me - mine has moved forward from week 48 to 46 - I ordered 5th August and was originally down for week 38 delivery.
Slight improvement, hopefully it will come forward some more as the factories get production going again.

Anyone else had an update?
