Wow! 746 prospective attendees for the Sunday Service so far is a pretty good response.
Unfortunately it coincides with our new High Peak Region TVRCC meet,
on Sun 31st Aug 2014 at the Sycamore Inn, Parwich, DE6 1QL at 1pm.

All are welcome to come along, and if it's a nice day we shall have a visit to Middleton Top engine house near Cromford and maybe a wander around the sights of this historic & picturesque town.

Plus I have to be careful with my mileage allowance,
I just renewed my Classic insurance with an annual limit of just 9000 miles and I've already done 338 of them last week.end! wink I've got to save some for next year's S Club Eurotour driving

A great run down with Bob and his daughter in his Tamora, twice the power but he couldn't shake me (possibly he wasn't trying too hard) wink

Met Joe (V8s4me) and had a mooch round an eclectic mix of cars then still not a bad drive home although roads were obviously far busier by then.

Thanks for the burger and coffee Bob.

We're still planning on doing the Car Cafe this Saturday, no other takers?

And then it's the Pre 80's on Sunday,"modern" TVRs are also most welcome.

I'll be going to car cafe.

Interestingly the response from other half was "only if I can come" confused

Just to add to above - finally - the first time in over 12 months - I managed to get she who must be obeyed in the S3. This was achieved with a promise of a "slow" drive to Castle Drogo. Anyway it was slow and I only got the slow down signals 3 times during the journey (30 miles each way) but one was when I was only doing 25mph (FFS).

How did I achieve this:

First step - join National Trust
Second Step - "Dear You want to go to National trust gardens and houses and I am happy to do this BUT if we do it will be in the TVR as I don't get the time to drive it otherwise"
Third Step - first outing go very slowly and make it a short one whilst always driving like an angel
Fourth Step - gradually increase distance and speed as SWMBO becomes acclimatised to the car - this will continue from here on in.

At last driving and bounce

I find it much easier and (I must add guiltily) much better to leave SWMBO at home without even asking as she doesn't like the carwhistle

Further to the above "I'm not going in that, I'm taking the Mini" and I thought the bacon sandwich was the persuading factor...
