OP, rub your finger up and down the exposed part.

If you go fk fk fk many times, replace the tyre...

If not then I reckon you will be ok. Tyres today can stand a massive amount of abuse.
In the middle of the cut there looks to be a cord, the white bit. Zoom the pic, and it looks like it. I could be wrong, it may be 1970s worm stsmile

If you have to ask, you have doubts. If you are loaded, replace it. If you can't afford a high speed blowout, replace it. Easy. Just look on it like insurance, necessary evil.

Another way to look on it, imagine when on a spirited hoon, getting pulled up by plod. He was going to let you off with a bking, but now he's going to give you a ticket for speeding and maybe one for defective tyre.

If we on PH saw a chav wagon with such damage, we'd be livid.....

I'd be very careful, I was pulled over for having a dirty number plate (!!?) 3 years ago or so in a courtesy car whilst the TVR was in the shop, and got a fixed penalty and 3 points for very similar damage. I disagreed and they took me to magistrates court who upped the fine considerably and upheld the points , my appeal was eventually held up in the High Court and costs awarded but the whole thing was a royal pain in the ass.
