What's the deal with this piece of st channel? Is all the CL going to be on it or is it just this mickey mouse qualifier? I'm fked if I'm locking myself into two years of Sky when they lose the CL next year.

wkers.

I might wind my neck in. I think I can activate it and am not tied in if I don't take a broadband offer. Also it appears to be on tonight so I can watch the gooners fluke a win against the run of play.

Yeah, you can choose not to have the snailband but they make you go through the trouble of seeing their delightful offer.

Yes you have to go through the spiel. What I could not understand was I activated it a month ago I could see it on my iPad and laptop with Sky Go but not on the TV. In the end I had to go through it again Grrrrrrrrrrr

To be fair though you get 2 years free the contract is only 18 months, not 2 years.

I wasn't paying any attention when I did it as I was on the phone, I hope I haven't accidentally locked myself into it as I'm moving in a few months time to an area where I can't have a dish so am being forced over to Virgin frown

I am fairly certain if you move and they cant provide a service then the contract is void. Failing that if you are still in your first 30 days you ca ncancel at any point.

I don't understand all the fuss about having to activate it. I didn't and it's up and running by itself.

They can provide a service, it's just a heritage/conservation area so I'm not allowed a dish on the wall for some reason.

The fuss about SS5 is that by signing up you're agreeing to a years contract with Sky regardless of the free broadband add on. BT have them on the run at the moment and with them having the champions league from next year it will be interesting to see what they come up with in the meantime.

Same here but I already have sky broadband if that makes a difference.

Our broadband is Virgin, Sky keep tempting us with free this & free that, but we have been with virgin since the old Telewest days & i really cannot fault their service tbh.

I'm the same...Virgin BB and SKY. Just pressed the red button and all done with no issues at all.

First I've heard of this and I work for them! Signing up to activate SS5 does NOT contract you into anything or extend anything either. It is FREE to all Sky Sports subscribers.

Yes, as part of this you can, if you wish, sign up for Sky Broadband Unlimited free for two years on an 18 month contract. You can also choose Sky Fibre Unlimited (40/10 package) half price for a year (£10 instead of £20) if it's available to you, again with an 18 month contract. if you're stuck on their Broadband Connect package you can also get that for £10 a month for two years (normally £17pm) by re-contracting for 18 months again.
