unfortunately a very close relative has been taken seriously ill and i need to assist with obtaining a realistic sale price on their Land rover freelander. its an SD4 HSE on a 60 plate with 31k in silver, and auto, plenty of goodies inc sat nav etc.
due to situation i'm possibly looking for a trader in North Lincs who might collect etc rather than trying to sell privately from a distance for them. any help or suggestions as to valuation as a straight trade sale appreciated.

I found wbac gave a fair trade price when all the private tyre kickers wanted it below trade, go figure. Get an online quote from them. It will also let you know if your local trader is offering a fair price.

Use WBAC only to find the absolute lowest figure you should accept in case no dealer wants to buy it. I tried them a few months back when considering part-exing my FL2 and every dealer I approached offered at least 10% more than WBAC.

Fair enough, not sure a trade in price is always the same as a selling to the trade though, as trade in all depends on what you are exchanging for etc. My experience is WBC were pretty much book price.

Yes agree for the OP, use them as a guide for the book price and see if you get abetter offer elsewhere still stands regardless.

Totally agree.

My higher part-ex bids were against a Merc and a BMW, so the bids would have to be underwritten by another dealer and the car moved on and should pretty much be book I thought, maybe I'm wrong?

Whereas, I think WBAC and the like are simply owned by auction houses aren't they, so wont offer any more than what they can get throwing the car into auction which you could do yourself?
